Do not like the changes, guys. I like having my links on the side where I can access them easily.

Not happy. Smiley: glare

I agree, this is awful.

I love it. Not really, but that's just because I hate changes. But I'm sure, once I get over that i'll love it. honestly.

I like how the FFXIV skin drop down menus were updated, but if you want the text at the bottom of the page visible, it's failing hard.

I just glanced at the FFXI skin, and it seems ok to me. Much less clutter on the left side of the screen.

It'd be nice if there was a small "Top" link at the bottom of each post that would bring you to the top of the page, saving you time from scrolling up to get to the links.

I liked the "clutter." It was much, much easier to navigate through the three forums I used. The only reason I was still using the FFXI skin was because of the "clutter" on the left hand side.

If the changes are sticking, then I will petition once again for a customizable sidebar for premium users to put whatever links in the site they want over there.

For mobile browsing, yes.

If you're browsing from a pc, you can just press the Home key.

Customizable sidebar/topbars would be great.

Then I'd have to move my hand from the mouse to the keyboard to do that.

You make things so difficult. Or something.
I'm sure it wouldn't take much work to make a new link next to the "Report" or "Link to this post" button anyway.

Also: Whenever the front page of the forum loads, no matter which forum (in IE 8), it'll load up, then about a half second later, the whole forum will do a little twitch and move up a little. Sometimes it does this more than once.

It's weird.

That's an IE bug that's been eluding me. I'll still try to figure it out, but if you can use a different browser you shouldn't see the same issue.

I can't until I get home.

I had just made screen shots and was going to show you the difference, too. Smiley: glare

And now the posts are messed up. It's showing an unbolded (read) thread, with a new post (green plus sign), and when I click on the red arrow, it takes me to the new post. Then when I go back to the main forum page, the thread is moved to the top, bolded, with the new message sign on it again.

Put it back. This was one of the few skins I could use because all the others were transformed into this useless annoying stuff. At the very least, give us the option to use the old skin by using a different prefix. (ffxi2.allakhazam.com for example.)

I most likely will not continue posting if the changes stick without the option to use the old skin. I purposefully continued using the ffxi skin even though I no longer play ffxi because the others were infinitely more annoying to use. When the list of forums was changed slightly when clicking "forums" it was annoying.. but I didn't complain because it was something I could get used to over time. This is not something I can get used to.

What Belkira said.

Whoever decided that taking away a simple easy to use sidebar filled with useful links and replacing it with a pain in the *** drop down system that makes me click an extra two or three times to do something I used to do with just one click should have their internal organs forcibly removed through their eye sockets. That's just bad design.

I just want a non-game-specific skin with a customizable sidebar. Smiley: frown

It's be even nicer if they offered it in at least two color schemes (light text on dark background and dark text on light background).

Also one of the reasons I continued using the ffxi skin. The colors, imo, are easy on the eyes. I was still able to read successfully when I was so tired my eyes would occasionally unfocus for no reason.
