I get that freebies get advertisements, and usually that doesn't bug me. But lately there have been ridiculous advertisements that lag my entire browser. Like the one with the stupid letter blocks for "The New Sienna Minivan". There have been others (Like the Turbo Tax one), most of the laggy one's being flash. I get that advertisements bring in money, and now an again I will even click on them for the sake of the site. But whenever I get one of these ridiculous laggy advertisements I more have the urge to close my browser all together than help maintain a site I usually enjoy going to.

Are you by any chance running on a 10 year old computer? Neither of those ads cause any lag for me. Honestly, if they're such a problem then just block them with adblock (if you're so against that, then just block the ones causing a problem).

edit: oh jeez, it does with internet explorer. But then anyone using IE probably doesn't care too much that their browser is slow Smiley: glare

It's a good thing you didn't say 8 year old computer, or you and I would have been about to have words.

New PC. Not the best, but new. And I'm not entirely sure how to use adblocker, or anything to that type. Especially on Flash crap. I can block images from sites but I have no idea how to block a flash ad. I right click and all I see is "About Adobe Flash 10 Player"

Bad Ads and How To Report Them

Emailing me or reply here with information on how to find the ads in question would be great. I find and look into the ads which are being laggy and get them blocked if they're a real problem and not a software/update issue.

Ads should not be causing your computer to slow down.
