Is anyone else having difficulties posting long posts on IE8Follow

I'm currently experiancing an issue that when writing a particularily long post (basically anything that causes the post window scroll bar to activate) the text jumps up and down in the display on the last line, making it so that I can see what I am typeing for a split second, then it moves of the screen until I press the next letter. somewhat disorienting to say the least. Just wanted to find out, is anyone else experiancing this now, and if so, is it affecting any other browsers?

Thanks

I know this is going to sound like an odd question, but what's your mouse/mouse equivalent?

Logitech MX Revolution. and it isn't a wireless interference issue near as I can tell. The only time the issue occurs is in the post window typeing the text.

Yeah, I wasn't thinking it was wireless interference, but it's also not what I was thinking.

(My Intuos3 died a couple of weeks ago; it pulled the same "bounce the window around" trick for a while on posts here - and not just in IE8 - then moved on to spurious double-clicks for a couple of months before it died. So I was seeing if you were using a tablet. :-D)

Well, actually yes, there is a tablet also plugged in. I don't use it very often because of the whole me sucking at drawing thing. I'll try removing it.

Edit: removing the tablet has no effect.

I have had that too, for some time even. Although I can't recall exactly when I had it first, I believe it was around the time the new layout for EQII forums came online. (I use IE8 too, I haven't tried it out on any other browser)

It's very annoying, to say the least, but I always figured the problem was on my end.
(and I don't make many long posts, also oddly it doesn't always happen)

This issue is addressed but may not be fixed for all people for a bit. In the mean time I'd recommend upgrading to a better browser regardless, such as Google Chrome or Firefox.

I've had trouble with this. Mostly when I'm quoting a gbaji-esque post and trying to delete part of it. The scroll bar just jumps up and down. It fixes it if I click on the brand new "Compatibility View" button on the address bar, though.

And, Jerek, I'd love to use FireFox at work, but I can't make changes to our browser like that. Some people are just stuck. Smiley: frown

It remains a problem in the PM system windows, but the main posting windows appear to be functional now.

I just tried it out in the Asylum on a gbaji post, and still had issues highlighting text in the posting window. I tried a shift+Refresh, and that didn't help.

This should now be fixed with the layout updates. Let me know if this issue continues on any sites.
