[IMG] Tags allowed in our own personal journals?
[LG] Tags allowed in our own personal journals?
Lastly, can we please have the ability to add others journals as a favorite under the user page?

Coffee is nasty. Not to mention that a shot of strong Pepper Vodka will wake you up instantly.

On topic: IMG Tags in the journals would be cool, as would LG tags.

Alternatively, a tap for grapefruit juice will suffice.

Please note, the following poll is not an indication of any plans currently in the works. it is just my attempt to see how image tag support would best meet the needs of the forum users.

With the understanding that Image tag use WOULD be a premium only feature if implemented, which of the following most accuratly represents your thoughts on allowing image tags in journals
see above:
I would approve of unrestrictred use of Image tags in journals. I recognize that the moderators cannot be everywhere and that some people would use them inappropriatly, but I feel it is an acceptable compromise :16 (57.1%)
I would approve of image tags in protected journals only. If I am in that journal I am there by choice and choose to see whatever content is inside :6 (21.4%)
I may approve of image tags in some form in UNRESTRICTED journals, but only if it involved uploading the content to the allakhazam servers for security purposes:3 (10.7%)
I may approve of image tags in some form in PROTECTED journals, but only if it involved uploading the content to the allakhazam servers for security purposes:1 (3.6%)
Instead of image tags in journals, I would rather have a seperate image tag enabled artwork forum :0 (0.0%)
I would not approve of image tags in journals. There is too much potential for abuse.:2 (7.1%)
Total:28

I was under the belief that "My Journal" was a place for me to post anything I want as long as it doesn't break your severs, I.E. spamming. I would even take it a step further and disallow anyone using [IMG] tags in my journal save for myself.

I think custom made banners would be awesome to post, as long as they wern't R-X rated.

The problem is catching the R-X rated images before half a million posters view them by accident.

You just need one single pornographic image and the feature will be gone. Like, deleted-on-a-Mac gone! If you've seen the advert.

Out of the 1.2 million users on this site, how many do you think will be tempted to post such an image? Judging by the nature of the human species...

I'm guessing at least one with premium membership. And that's all it takes.

Another way to cure that if someone posts an image that is extremely in appropriate (should be self-explanatory) then make them a ghost. Assuming this will be a premium only feature, generally premium users are the regs of a forum somewhere and actually enjoy the Allakhazam.com community. That said, very few of them would be willing to get banned over something stupid.

Or you can always do what alot of dating sites do... have the image go through a screening process before it's actually posted.

This is where people get this message board confused with other message boards. Admins on this site, are here primarily to update the info, make technical changes, et cetera. The point of the Karma System is so the forums could be somewhat moderated without Admins sitting there babysitting. Any babysitting they do now, is an extra task. Kind of like you have to do dishes, but sometimes the refrigerator needs to be cleaned as well. An extra task they as soon not deal with.

I highly doubt Kao, or any admin would want to sit there and literally approve each picture individually prior to use.

I thought those images were processed through a computer program...

You mean there's a computer program that can parse and rate images according to that thing called human morality that exists differently person to person?

I'd approve them in all journals, the journal holder has the option to edit anything they don't want in their journal.

Don't like it, delete it!

More or less this is my feelings on it. Even the arbitrary user doesn't regularly go into journals. People that post in my journal more or less "know" me as far as much as you can "know" a person solely via Internet.
#23 May 27 2007 at 7:59 PM Rating: Decent
I approve. We have the powers to censor delete anything in our journals we don't deem appropriate. If you're in any journal, you're there by choice...

Blah blah, snap-snap let's see these tags!

Not fond of the idea that people would be able to post whatever imageshack link they stumble across. Premium membership isn't a guarantee for 0% stupidity. It's only $3 a month.
