New layout for items listed for a zone.Follow

THis new listing format for the items in a zone is not nearly as helpful as the old way. Not having the stats is ok but not showing which class can use the item sucks. Before I could just load that up and quickly scan for items that my cleric or beast could use from the zone and which mob drops it.

The mouse over it good to get a look at an item once I know I want to look at it but to scan the items it is not helpfull. Also, the level needed is not something that is useful since most people know what the level is to reach the zone since you clicked on the zone to get to that page.

Maybe add just class usable and slot on that page for quick scanning.

Keep in mind that you can use the "Advanced Item Search for this Zone" link at the top of the page to perform the types of filtering and searches you are referring to. After clicking that link, just choose Cleric from the class drop-down to get this result.

I understand that you can use advance featues to find that info .. i just liked the fact you could find items at a glance in a zone for specific classes. I just help my guild look up items and the way you had th listing before suited me nicely. Just wondering if others feel the same way and if enough did would you decide to change a little ... that is all ... otherwise the site is great and I will continue to pay for it if you maintain it this well.

The stats were removed from listings due to just how much information is in a lot of EQ items now. It was fine to display all the stats when an item would only have AC10 +3agi and +2sta type stuff. However, now items have bonuses to half the stats you have, focus effects, clicky effects, aug slots and so on. I played with the display a bit to show all the stats but the page became massive and very, very busy. I also ended up scrolling a lot to see everything in a list, even on my 19" screens.

I could care less about the popup stat box on the Search page. Having a pop up box on specific pages for mob info and quests makes far more sense. Having everything laid out on the item search page with name, stats, zone, mob was one of the most usefull features of Allas for me. This change just made my searching for items near useless. I suggest at least implimenting a search option to use the old search layout.

I was just thinking about the format:

ITEM NAME ...... CLASS ..... MOB ....... (and maybe) FOCUS / EFFECT

This does not add a lot to the listing and your right, with items now it is too cluttered to list stats. Class usable and Focus/effect is what most people I have talked to want to know quickly, then once you see what you might be interested in you can click item for full stats.

For pages like the above you'd like class(es) and effects added to the listing? That sound reasonable. It's hard to know where to draw the line with EQ items these days.

I'll try to get to it shortly(tm).

I hear adding the link you are trying to reference helps. You'd think I know how to add a link to a post by now.

And most ppl in my guild and accross the two raid teams I help run want the stats listed (old format). It would be very easy to add it back as an option. For upgrade path planning for my people, the old format was my best option. Unless there is another method of obtaining item stat listings via a .cvs file.

Focii listings are useless unless you know every single one of the dozen names associates with each type. "Healing", "damage", "save mana". You could try something unique and list the % and what it does rather than the focii name. "45% extended range benificial only up to level 75" Or add such a feature on the item search page.
