Poster's "colors" O_oFollow

Hi,

Sorry for the question, but it's been a puzzle to me for some time now: some poster's name have special colors... seems like blue indicates a poster with higher than normal rating, green is still better and purple even better.

I've tried to rate up people on several occasions after reading good posts but couldn't ... apparently because I'm not "one of them" (sounds very much like cooptation to me!!!). So I was wondering how one becomes blue + ...

Another question was: can you lose your color statuts? I'm pretty sure one poster was blue last week and is now back to orange...

Thanks,
nostra

Edit: yeah, I know purple means "admin", not "even better"... just licking some asses here to get a quick reply from those within :)

Q: I see posters rated as Scholar, Sage and Guru. What's up with that and how do I get a title?

A: That is part of the Karma system. Your Karma rating is determined by averaging every rating your posts have received from the users of the site. The rating comes from posts made under your registered name on any of the rated forums for any game covered by allakhazam.com, but does not include posts on user journals. You must have at least 15 posts before you receive a Karma rating. Then any future post you make will start out at your Karma level. Anonymous posts start at a rating of 2. Titles are assigned to your posts according to the following scale:

Karma below 3 = user. Posts are in dark blue.
Karma between 3.01 and 3.65 = scholar. Posts are in yellow.
Karma between 3.66 and 4.34 = sage. Posts are in green.
Karma between 4.35 and 5 = guru. Posts are in red

The colors vary between the different skins, this is for the FFXI skin 'cause that's what I use.

Thanks!

So you can get a rate up for both threads which you create and answers which you make to an existing thread.

Now, sorry to be half-blind... but how do I rate up people? Can't seem to find a way to...

You have to have a Scholar or better rating to be able to rate others.
