Or as someone suggested earlier:

Admins - Legendary (orange)
Gurus - Epic (purple)
Sages - Rare (blue)
Scholars - Uncommon (green)
Sub-scholars - Common (white)
Sub-defaults - Poor (gray)

The boss himself could get the Artifact color of red.

[:chuckle:]

I really like that. And sorry Illia, I haven't had any time to play with wow search except for a few minute times you linked in irc. *stomps off to lotro skin now* Smiley: cry

Edit: can I stay purple tho? ROFL

I think changing the colors of everyone else would just cause confusion Smiley: tongue.

Have you tried communicating with the FFXI fanbois over in the OOT forum? Confusion is what happens when they start commenting on the various colors from the FFXI stylesheet as if it was the default stylesheet while the WoW fanbois use the WoW stylesheet.

I'm worried about spending too much time on the LOTRO stylesheet. Admin color there is orange while scholar color is a darker blue just to mess things up completely.

Smiley: laugh

They should make the colors identical on all stylesheets. And use the WoW item quality colors because WoW is awesome.

To all you WoW haters: I can't hear you! - Lalalalala - Can't hear you!

We tried that. I preferred being able to see the user colors on each stylesheet though...

Can't argue with that logic!

So make all the stylesheets identical to the WoW stylesheet. Do I have to come up with all the ideas here? Smiley: tongue

[edit] Oh, that reminds me of something. Check out the Scholar color on the LOTRO stylesheet.

If any color changing of names is done on the ffxi I will keel someone. :p

I've used those colors as default since my start on alla and I don't like change that much!

(Oh and ffxi skin owns wow skin. FFXI main forums + OoT forums + Feedback Forums + Asylum + Job Forums + Trade skill forum > Main WoW Forum + Classes forums + Horde/alliance forums + Tradeskill forum.)

Here's another edit I'd like to see. The line of text that says "Welcome NixNot, Private messages" is WAY up in the corner, and I had a PM in there that the sender had to point out to me because I just didn't see it. Any way to move that at least to the bottom of the header graphic? Or, even as another menu header in the sidebar menu?

I think the theory with that is that as we roll it out, people are going to get used to it and look up there. Right now, you don't think to look since you're not used to it being there.

I personally like it there, out of the way.

You do know the skin for OOT, Feedback and Asylum is whatever skin you put infront of .allakhazam.com, right?

http://wow.allakhazam.com/forum.html?forum=28

That's OOT with the WoW skin. Put LOTRO infront of .allakhazam.com and you'd get the LOTRO skin.

The default skin

http://www.allakhazam.com/forum.html?forum=28

is crap though.

You do know you don't know what you're talking about, right? Smiley: lol

Go to the ffxi skin and look at the forum links to the left, then go to the wow skin and look at the same links. That's what I was listing before.

Wasn't very obvious from reading your post, tbh. You and Rime could do a show on this whole "guess what I'm talking about" routine. Smiley: tongue

Now if only the would let us customize the sidebar with whatever links we want and the color backgrounds as well. I'd Fed/Ex every coder at Alla a 6 pack of brew.

Is it possible to force Firefox to load an external style sheet stored locally? If so, we could just make our own background and such. We wouldnt be able to adjust the links on the side, but it would be a start.

And I am still hoping that the alt+s (ctrl+s on mac) quick-posting will be added one day, as this is the only forum I go to that does not use it.

There are already enough knee jerk posters on these boards, I don't think it would be wise to give them an express lane. Smiley: laugh

There is, you need to get the Stylish add-on: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/2108

Working on tweaking things now...
