It's been said time and time again, there will be NO new stickies in the FFXI Main Forum.

IF you noticed, any extra sticky an Admin puts up is usually only temporary.

Thanks Wintaru. This is actually the 2nd time this post requested a sticky. It was actually Sabo who asked very politely.

Could you be any more mean? It almost seems as if you are exasperated that someone dare ask for a sticky in the main forum.

Your emphasis on the "IF" seems to denote you believe Wintaru does not notice this and is beneath contempt... come off it.

As far as my post goes. I understand the need to restrict stickies in the Main Forum. Then, let me ask:

Can this be stickied someplace? If so, where? In my opinion, this information belongs in the "Game Guides" section. But, I don't know how to post there, or even if you can. Secondly, all these posts belong in the Game Guides, and this would alleviate the lack of organization of information. On the other hand, I do not believe the Game Guides section is visited often (pure speculation)

Why not put this information in Alla's Forum FAQ post and rename the post? This is very forward, but I'm looking for a solution to this question, not just... no.

I do not propose to know how this website works. I don't think I really count as a regular, even though I visit everyday since the PS2 launch (which wasn't all that long ago) Despite my lack of experience, I am a very organized person, and I only feel that the knowledge contained in that post (99% of it, not mine) should be readily accessible and organized.

While it is a great post, I have a question.

What would be the point of "sticky"-ing the thread, or even moving to some other place that reaks off common sense?

Those are the places that a rare few will look to first. That is why we can have 10+ gilselling threads going on at the same time. People do not bother to look for information. They assume that they can just have someone force feed them what they need to know.

Unless there is a major change in the mentality of the Main FFXI board users, a better option would be to just keep bumping the thread. The second it gets a sticky, no one will read it.

I think that is a very interesting point. Something I did not consider.

My perception derives from my use of stickied threads in the Job Forums and in the Tradeskill Forum. I don't normally bookmark individual threads and when I'm looking for a piece of information (in the tradeskill forum, for instance) I normally go right to Popsi's post. So, I really just based these assumptions on my own actions.

Looking at this from a different perspective, I think you have an excellent point.

I have been playing FFXI for a year now, and your guide is quite good.

On the seldome chance someone does read the stickied threads first, it would be very helpful.

And also, whenever someone needs info and posts a new topic, we can just link to your thread.

If it is stickied, instead of linking, we can just say "Read the above stickied thread"

I dont see how it could hurt anything to stickie it, but what I did was add that page to my Favorites. Now when I enter FFXI I automaticaly go through your thread.

No, I don't. I'm afraid I do not possess the poll data to make an assumption about how little people use stickies.

I wasn't aware of either one of these points. I'll just link to it via my signature then.

o_O I just stated the facts. It has been asked alot already...what ELSE do you want me to do? It's text, stop connecting "emotion" to a simple sentence.

I didn't emphasize on the word "IF", it's a typo I didn't notice. Held the shift key a second too long.
