It seems that one of the update-bitchers had fun with this one.

EDIT: I spelled "one' as "obe".[black]

Yeah, I found it amusing, but I wasn't going to say anything about it.^^ People get mad and rate things down. Sometimes it's justified and sometimes it's not. You have to take these things with a grain of salt, really.

Well, when you think about it, it is.

Honest proof that there is a camper (judging by Illia's "so?"), and it's blown off.

yes, 26 people rating a thread makes it a single camper, all right

So why the heck did Illia imply that it was one camper?

Hmmm....

It's kinda like going to a teacher/professor, and saying you caught someone cheating. If the teacher/professor said "so?", you woudln't think that meant "I know, and I don't care."?

There's a rate button on every post. There's a "rate all the posts you're rating " button at the bottom of the page.

Using them isn't bad. I didn't say there was anything going on, I said in response to "hey somene rated every message in this thread" - "so what?".

I didn't look at rating statistics, I didn't check that userA hadn't unfairly targetted userB. I didn't look over the history of userG's rating history and see that he's a detractor of unbelievable detractorness. I just said "so?" in response to someone whingin about people rating other people down.

The karma system is designed that your karma fluctuates. up and down. Unless you get concerned everytime you rise a point, stop whining to me every time you drop one.

Yes it's possible to karma camp. Yes, I will intervene in extreme cases.

To give you an idea of what's considered extreme, at last count - one user has rated another user a total of 2,600 times at 1.0. I don't consider this karma camping. I consider this extreme vigilence of opinion.

So what exactly would you consider karma camping? Registering multiple accounts, rating them up to Scholar, and using them to rate down one person? Attempting to hack the DB? Rating someone to 1.0 ten thousand times? Twenty thousand? A hundred thousand?

I just want to know where you specifically draw the line.

It's hard to quantatively say where I draw the line.

In this case, personA said something bad about personB's mother.

I can't really fault personB for feeling dedicated about rating personA.

Main place I draw the line is sockpuppets made just to rate someone down (or up), or if somebody is rating down (or up) an entire forum (or 5000 post thread) with no discrimnation.

I really didn't think this thread was going to go anywhere. I was just stating that a lot of people didn't like that thread because it talked about how stupid they were to ***** every time that they can't play the game for a few hours, bdcause they have no lives.
