I can only see it in journals, and when I'm using everquest.allakhazam.com (only checked with the EQ and FFXI site, not sure about others), and it takes me to a dead page.
Is it supposed to be for e-mails?

Yeah, I noticed that, but it didn't really matter much too me, I like avatars
