It would be really cool if some of us could post "services" up on a board here.
For instance I could post rates like:
10,000 gil: rank 3 mission 3 (est 1 hr)
30,000 gil: 1 person through all of rank 4 (est. 2.5 hrs)
125,000 gil: 5 people through all of rank 4 (est. 3.25 hrs)
5,000 gil: any subjob quest
1,000 gil: escort from starting city to jeuno
50,000 gil: limit break 1 papyrus hunt (I can't do this yet)
Miscellaneous NM's up to level 45: 15,000/hr RL time
My prices may be up for discussion, but you get the idea. It'd be really useful to be able to locate people for services easily and be able to advertise them.

Interesting idea, but I doubt that any more "official" FFXI forums will be showing up here. This is a multi-game site and FFXI already has quite a few more forums than any other game on this site. That's not to say that it's a bad concept.
On the other hand, I'll generally ask the people leveling around me if they need subjob items when I get the drops. My inventory is always full anyway these days.
Also, I lead low level characters to Jeuno and from one starting city to another whenever they are interested and I'm headed that way. I'll just have them switch to a level 1 job and let them know that if they don't stay with me, they'll likely die, and I will keep on walking.

That's cool - I really don't think a forum is the right place anyways - it'd be more like a full-blown CGI similar to the equipment and NPC search. I also know how much work that can be.
Since you mention it, though, if this was a proper application rather than a simple forum, it'd be something that could work with all of the various games Allakhazam supports and not just FF XI. O h well maybe I'll play with writing some CGI later (I write a lot of perl at work).
So nobody gets the wrong idea, I don't charge people for helping with most stuff, but I do see all the people shouting in the cities for help (which usually requires a higher level than me) and they may be interested. Personally I know I'll probably end up shopping for some high-level help for genkai 1 soon (I've been level 49 for a month now working subjobs and warrior).

What would happen is...if someone performed one of the services and didn't get payed, or if someone payed and didn't get the service, they'd come here and blame Allakhazam. And I don't think Alla wants responsibility for such things.
