It would be great if there were forums for each FFXI world server. I've seen a bunch of posts get buried in the existing FFXI forums, in which people are trying to find others on the same server. Sorry if these already exist. Thanks!

At this time, as far as I know, this is not planned.

I think that most people would agree to have server specific forums would be a great idea. This is the only way i feel you can get actual help from people in-game. Just to re-iterate sklith, there are too many post out there that are looking for LS mates or "I need help on this quest". Creating server specific forum would free up the over posted thread on the main forum. Just my 2 cents.

As nice as that would be, I think you shouldn't forget that our camp already was more forums than all the other games combined on this site.

It seems little unfair to the other users, even if there are more of us.

Not yet, but they are getting there.

Already some of the FFXI forums that were added have reached the posting level of "dead" forums. You spread things out too much and people get bored and lose interest

Imagine the extra stuff the admins would have to do. x amount of games multiplied by 10x the forums, oh my. as much as i would want that, guess you are right, these forums keep me interested with it all compiled.

Just wanted to add. I would find this very useful.

Being a New PS2 user reaching those critical stages that I need to do Rank Missions/Alliance Quests. Without finding a great LS to join (which I lucky just have) It's hard to find server specific help.

With Chains coming and the addition of the European community this site will also grow with users that will be facing the same issues we PS2 users are.

Would it be possible to expand/combine the World pass section to include this? Just my suggestion to not add 20 new boards to be moderated.

Maybe make it a Premium service as well?
Thanks for a GREAT, Well moderated, EASY TO USE SITE!

You can really delete the Race forums. Both the Quantity and Quality of posting there is really sad, at least in the one I check anyway.

Just today we discussed the pros and cons and server forums still got the no vote. I did pull all sides into the equation and Alla still says no. We just don't think the server forums would have survivability and would eventually be barren and rust.

Just throwing in another perspective, I feel that at the very least, they would be more useful when compared to ... say ... the forums for the races.

There is only so much one can babble on about when it comes to the races. Many of the forums usually just resort to talking about completely off-topic issues, not about their races at all. Or "Why does your race suck?" threads by some flamebaiter coming to another forum.

Perhaps a general all-servers forum? Or some sort of stickied post in one of the many forums where there can be some sort of "directory" to keep track of players on each server. If they are willing to let what server they are on be known, of course.

Just an idea or two.

I visited KillingIfrit's forums the other day, and they have like 60 different FFXI forums. And each forum only has like 5 regular posters and that's it. Pretty boring if you ask me.

Heck, I'm all for killing the race-specific forums. They're just a breeding ground for "Elvaan r teh suck!" "STFU n00b, Elvaan r0x0rz!" e.t.c.

No wonder the Asylum crew hate us so much ^-^

We've started a Phoenix board in Seoman's journal. Anyone who wants to check it out may.

Don't worry about it being closed; my own journal has more posts on its main thread than are in the entire new OOT forum. Basically, what we do there is our business, and isn't getting in the way of anyone else.

Hopefully the other servers will find similar sponsers.

Confirming that the ff race forums aren't very useful, feel free to remove them. ^^

Okay, so server forums (plural) has been shot down. What about a server forum (singular)? It wouldn't be as neat and organized as seperate server forums, but at least it would make it easier to find/help/post about server-specific events which almost always get buried in the general forum quickly. Please? If you can't spare creating 30 new forums, at least create one new one to help the sever-specific clutter that is in the main forum?

Won't be used? How can anyone know until they have tried it?

Honestly, it is not THAT much work to set up forums.

And as to administrating them, it is the volume of posts/threads that creates the work. Which forum it is in is insignificant.

There is a steady flow of requests for this. It simply makes sense to pull server-specific traffic out of the mainstream. Problem players, requests for help, linkshell solicitations and events are of no interest to the MAJORITY of users. Just to those on that given server.

It sounds like someone has a hang-up about this that is probably left from some unrelated occasion and is skewing his/her opinion.

As has been said repeatedly, delete the race forums -- they just aren't useful, and pull the world pass forum in favor of server specific forums where it would make more sense.

And by all means, when we have harped on this long enough to make it happen (and I for one won't stop asking until it does) PUT A LINK IN THE MENU. Otherwise the same thing will happen as with the tech support forum: no link means it all dumps into the general forum.

That it takes this much discussion is really quite silly.
