I just downloaded the program and intstalled it and when i try to run it I get a dialog box labled "Auto-Updater" that has a progress bar that reaches roughly 30% of the way and then stops.

I'm running Win XP Pro SP1 on a home built system:
P4 2.4 Hyper-Threading
Intel D865PERL motherboard
Radeon 7000 All-In-Wonder
512 MB RAM

I'm conecting to the internet through the onboard NIC card to a firewall/router to cable modem.

Do you have anything like zonealarm running that might be blocking outbound connections? The auto-updater is just a couple of ordinary http/port 80 downloads, so I can't think of anything else that might be causing it to hang there.

No, I don't like software firewalls. In my opinion they use up too much in the way of system resources and anything that can get by the router could get by a software firewall. I just double checked to make sure Microsoft's firewall wasn't on by default or anything and it isn't.

I was running into this same problem until I saw another message talking about the item collector using the local IE cookie for

I never use IE on my Everquest computer so I never had a cookie saved.

After I opened and logged into the auto-updater worked fine.

I hope this helps
