Darnit...messed up my post, lost the text. Here it goes again.

On the FFXI Summoner job forum, it's gotten totally out of control. Sick, sick things are being said there...I have about three or four hate threads right now. Can an admin check it out and clear it up? I have no idea of what to do at this point. -_-;

I don't want to go back and find all the posts I referenced here, but here's one that's a good example of what's being said over there:

Quote:
Both tuanle and Ilani are pieces of crap. There the kind of people that if i new in real life i would beat the &*() out of the them. Why in the hell would you report someone for something that in no way affects you at all. I sware you people make me sick. Leave saigan alone shes just trying to get help. We all have different ways of getting help, let her do hers. I sware ....those two are huge tards and i wish i could curse up a storm about those two idiots but i dont wanna seem immature. Its always the fat virgin losers that report people for stupid stuff cuz they have nothihng better to do....god ILani and tuanle i hope you get hit by a dumptruck

o_o; Unbeleivable, really, some of what's going on. Violent threats, sick suggestions, all fair game. ^_^

Help me. *cry*

This board does tend to have a hands off moderation policy, and from what I read, you did come off a bit more smug than I think you probably intended, but there are somethings that probably do need taking care of over there. For one thing, this thread:
REMOVED LINK should probably be edited. The guy is trying to buy stuff on the forum with real money. Also, his sig probably needs to be removed since he put her name and server in the sig, I assume to try and get people to report her and get her banned? The rest of the bad posts are a bit on the mean side, but no worse than we've seen in OOT in the past.

is there a specific reason to have a hands-off policy?

I think it is kind of sad when people start flaming, or use severe insults. I always try to laugh about it or to calm it down, but that doesnt even seem to work.

Those kind of threads should be closed and/or deleted in my opinion. So i was wondering why you let it be? I'm not questioning your authority or something like that, it is meant as an informative question.

That's the way it's always been. It gives a certain flavor to the board.

Sure, it adds flavor...but it leaves a sour taste in my mouth.

And I know I'm arrogant...certainly, to some extent, I am what they say. But even I don't deserve an anti-Ilani allience. Though, it's kind of cool that they're so obsessed with me. =3

Hey Ilani don't feel bad about the flamers. Some people do appreciate your advice, I know I do no matter how it comes across ^^.

It's my personal opinion that they want things (avatars, levels, rank, ect.) to come to them easily and when it doesn't they find another "easy" solution.
So when people challenge a "solution" to their "problem" they get mad; kind of how a 2 year old gets when you take their toy away =) (bad example I guess but it seems that way to me). The rest of the people... well the internet is a breeding ground for people like them ^^

Hopefully they can take a cold shower and get over it

P.S. (Please don't misunderstand me, I don't mean everyone I mean those that are unwilling to work to achieve their goal, not those that ask for help then go do it themselves when they are unable to get help.)

Yes, the paying for game favors is illegal in just about every online game...because where do you draw the line? At helping, or at playing *for* you?

Always good to see people who like my advice.

I gotta admit llani, those summoner forums are a bit out of hand, I read through them and a few other forums, and bless them for trying, I feel dumber post read through. As for the report, I think you did a fair thing. It Square thinks its bad, they'll handle it. They think its good, they'll ignore it. Someones gotta let em know though.

As for the Avatar thing, if the favor results in any type of item Square can nail him. That is in the EULA.
