Make Empyrean Weapon Upgrade Items BazaarableFollow

Currently, the items such as Carabosse's Gem, Fistule Discharge, Glavoid Shells, etc - are all EX. Given the large number of NMs introduced in Abyssea, obtaining 50 of each item will require a linkshell to dedicate literally months to just one person. (Compare this to Dynamis, where helpers have a full pallate of armor as a prize for assisting someone achieve a relic weapon, and where the rare/ex items required are simple oneshot items - when they actually drop, of course. And compare it to mythics, where the onus is on the individual to do events with a group, as the only major HNMs are required just once - not twenty five times each!)

If these items were bazaarable, then linkshells could barter them, buy and sell them, and work on getting armor for other people in the linkshell and spread out the items while at the same time allowing their members to work on Empyreans. Yes, they would sell for a considerable amount of gil (guessing 1-2 million each) - but the sum cost would be comparable to the cost of Dynamis and Mythic weapons, in the end.

Finally, to ensure someone has done at least some of the work, require the title received from the NM for the final upgrade. So each upgrader has to kill the NM at least once. Just not necessarily 25 times.

Everything else in Abyssea was so well implemented, it is a shame that these weapons fell short of their potential.

...and let's not forget the armor as well. If not bazaarable, we should at least be able to trade the buggers--if not to the players, maybe to an NPC on some sort of exchange policy: a handful of them for job you DON'T need in exchange for one for a job you DO need.

#3Seedling, Posted: Oct 15 2010 at 6:29 AM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) There's no need to bazaar them. All you need is the name of a couple of linkshells that are killing the HNM in question and invite you after the kill for x million per drop. If no such person can be found, the drops can go to LS members interested in doing the weapons. Everybody wins. (Especially if they add EAF+2 seals to those HNMs for the body/hands.)

That's not always an option. Look at Fistule for example. Fistule Discharge is required for Club, Bow, and Axe upgrades. He drops no key items to pop other NMs, and aside from Fistule Discharge here are his drops:
Rokugo Hachimaki (the WHM WS headpiece)
Scathacha (the awful but cool-looking GKT)
Lightsome Cap (the DEX+9 Accuracy-9 hat)

All three pieces are mediocre at best, and the guy is a total pain to kill (you have to drag another NM, Guimauve, over him just to fight him).

Aside from Fistule Discharges, there is really no reason any LS would go out of their way to kill this guy.

All bazaaring would do is take away the need to even buy the expansions

You missed where I said "require the title from the NM as proof you killed it at least once."

I'd be rather against this change.

All it would do for me, and a lot of others unfortunate enough not to have a linkshell dedicated to kill them, is that my "friends" i ask to help me kill the monster for the R/EX gem will suddenly want a large sum of gil since the item could have been sold otherwise.

I'm not about to just spend several mil on a run where i have to get my own pop items as well. Same for simply buying them. It's a nice thing to have, and it will circumvent several months of hard work, but people can be unreasonable bastards when it comes to bazaaring things other people are after.

It shouldnt be a weapon only people with 100-200 mil to their name can buy. We don't live in such an elitist world anymore. Though yes, the actual way of obtaining the items is a bit of a pain right now. Perhaps SE could make some subtle changes to make it quicker or easier to battle it.

You don't seriously think they would sell for 2-4m each, do you?

I can always hope they do not. But as people can be real jerks when they find something others are after, it wouldn't surprise me ^^; But idk, considering how the weapon is compared to the relics/mythics, it might still be quite a lot. What numbers did you have in mind yourself?

Visions ones might go for probably 500-1m each, maybe. The ones from scars areas would go for 100k at most, since the nms are repeatedly killed for the +2 upgrades. I've personally dropped almost 10-20 of them (in total, between all kinds), and between my ls, we've easily seen 50-75 or so just in the past few weeks. Anything over 1m would never happen.
