Currently, the items such as Carabosse's Gem, Fistule Discharge, Glavoid Shells, etc - are all EX. Given the large number of NMs introduced in Abyssea, obtaining 50 of each item will require a linkshell to dedicate literally months to just one person. (Compare this to Dynamis, where helpers have a full pallate of armor as a prize for assisting someone achieve a relic weapon, and where the rare/ex items required are simple oneshot items - when they actually drop, of course. And compare it to mythics, where the onus is on the individual to do events with a group, as the only major HNMs are required just once - not twenty five times each!)
If these items were bazaarable, then linkshells could barter them, buy and sell them, and work on getting armor for other people in the linkshell and spread out the items while at the same time allowing their members to work on Empyreans. Yes, they would sell for a considerable amount of gil (guessing 1-2 million each) - but the sum cost would be comparable to the cost of Dynamis and Mythic weapons, in the end.
Finally, to ensure someone has done at least some of the work, require the title received from the NM for the final upgrade. So each upgrader has to kill the NM at least once. Just not necessarily 25 times.
Everything else in Abyssea was so well implemented, it is a shame that these weapons fell short of their potential.
