Haven't logged-in to Facebook for awhile. But there are some decades old friends who I and well, she still depend on and love each other's advice. Never any romanticism, just great friends. So I sign in to tell her some tough stuff I may be going through for advice; and to see her status and maybe I could help... and I mean maybe we suck but that's not the point, the point is that my visits are moral and beloved, and one-to-one as either of any desire it. So about 6 humans/headers should be able to do a message to me. I have no idea if my own mom has a Facebook thing. No interest.

Yet this, Face Recognition/no human was there, WAITING...

Introducing Face Recognition For More Features
Hi David, we’re always working to make Facebook better, so we're adding more ways to use face recognition besides just suggesting tags. For example, face recognition technology can do things like:

• Find photos you're in but haven't been tagged
• Help protect you from strangers using your photo
• Tell people with visual impairments who's in your photo or video

You control face recognition. This setting is on, but you can turn it off any time, which applies to features we may add later.

-The Facebook Team

So on by default. Opt-out is the positive (intentional) move instead.

And, again, I sign out as much as possible but there's still a couple Facebook friends who I love. Sure I'll opt-out of this naked horrid affront of Facebook. But maybe I should even just burn all of my internet presence down to the ground.

And not to mention Google and Facebook and Amazon Billions of dollars in US government contracts.

Yeah, I'm human in ways and decades and mental problems and personal morals that few here would give a **** about. So no biography.

Other than in the past, again, as a worker (later supervisor), I was a friend to a female human and helped her mentally and financially, and she later did the same, and that is a bond to this day. Plus a lot of wacky drunk hijinks. Friday pizza and spades.

And ailing. She is, more than me. But has a wonderful daughter, who I'd met long ago. But also an amazing granddaughter now.

But struggles to get around. It's tough for me to ever....one of my best friends in high school, his dad died of an auto accident. I didn't know what to do...I avoided him. To my shame. Years later I told him that and he...welll....he heard it. Which meant my actions at that time did give him pain.

So...Facebook or not...or maybe whatever...maybe I'm just an *******......

[eta] Not that this impugns you at all or I mean it as a strawman. You're also a good person. I riffed....Sorry Bijou

Facebook is counter-productive to all my efforts to avoid the people I've lost contact with in the first place and versa vice.

So this is all over the news right now. Could someone give me a tl;dr version of why I should care that Facebook is selling people my "data" about what exactly...? I'm a white male, 32 years old and live in Palm Bay, Florida? Look at that. I'm giving away all my data for free. Who the **** cares.

Uh, first: yes all over the news now. Check my date though and your reactionary cunt-age. Perhaps.

And check also your insouciance. Which is a word only ******** would use, such as my. "Insouciance" ****. Sorry for that.

I guess Muslims and stricken people, struggling to get water dripping down from their cages' drip drip drip. Some even murder each other for that sweet nectar.

I mean...oh my god, do you think the benefits and dangers of Facebook and such are only pertaining to US users?

It's very difficult to argue with incredibly ignorant people who have no idea or a particular issue.

And your initial claiming of white male 32 in Fla is also an enigma. Almost asking for a reply to savage you. Which I have not done. Maybe you're a 32 white male idiot. Maybe you're a 22 year old black idiot.

If only all discussions aside from subjective feelings could be put into binary logic....

Oh gee. Thanks for enlightening me. I'm full of care for all of those things you have mentioned now. I'm completely moved into action as though any of them matter in the slightest.

Edit:

I actually just went back and read what you posted. What the actual **** are you on about? No, seriously. Muslims? Dripping water? Are you high?

Muslims in Yemen, Syria, Libya, and other millions of victims due to US warmongering look forward to dripping water.

Sorry for your "as though any of them matter in the slightest". Random psychopathic *******. And also just a random ignorant fool who has no notion or desire to have a notion of actuality of various kerfuffles around the world. Etc.

I also think that the crisis in Algeria is heightening. The Flintstones didn't do it because they couldn't get the bat powder to free enough space for their power converters. The notion that the notion of kerfuffles though around the world, etc is random psychopathic, I agree. Can you worry the how to not free is a casperberry? All that dripping water. It's a shame that we can't just paddle our way to a circular freedom disc when Facebook is trending away all our zigs.
