Hi Everyone, My name is Toni, and I work for a British TV company called Back2back, based in Brighton UK.

We are currently making a documentary for Sky Living about relationships that start in online games, with a working title of “Happily Ever Avatar”. The programme is a completely positive documentation of these relationships, where we look at relationships that have blossomed through online gaming/RP/Chat, with players falling in love through their avatars and going on to have meaningful, committed relationships in the real world.

It’s going to be a heart-warming series celebrating dating and relationships in the 21st Century. The theme is very much about 'love conquering all', and showing the incredible lengths couples that meet playing online games go to in order to become a real life couple. I am currently casting for UK based people who have found love in this way, who might like to be involved in the programme.

This programme is definitely not Catfish! I wish that words alone could stress that enough. this documentary will look at unconventional relationships in a counter-intuitive way, overturning many of our prejudices and misconceptions with honest storytelling. It will challenge us to realise that committed, successful relationships can embrace the unusual.

Please get in touch with me if you'd be interested in taking part, or want to help with research.

Thanks :)

As with surveys, I imagine this is one of those cases where most people will feel more comfortable after an admin confirms your story and whatnot. If you haven't done so already, I'd suggest contacting one of the senior admins and getting their OK to use their user base as fodder for your program.

Toni, please PM or email me the details regarding this project. Who it is through / for, what if any of the content from our sites you would want to use in your production if you recruited someone from here (licensing / copyright concerns) and we can proceed from there. Assuming this is a legitimate production and company I don't see an issue as our users are mostly grown ups able to make their own decisions and such. I would need to check things out to make sure this isn't an elaborate phasing attempt as. A standard precautionary measure.

Thank you,

A couple of good reasons to miss TERA right there. Will need to go back to that game at some point; once I feel the need to endure that endless grind again. The pretty could only outweigh the pain for so long.

On topic, there was someone our sister guild back in WoW (two guilds that tended to do content together since neither had enough people for a full raid team) that had a story like that. Met boyfriend in-game, and they eventually got married a couple of years later. It was quite the accomplishment since he was in Australia and she was in the USA. The joys of playing on an oceanic server I suppose; it's more than just lag on vent. Smiley: rolleyes

Unfortunately that was years ago, and I don't have the contact information for either of them anymore. So something, something, cool story bro.

I know two couples who met online and are now happily married with kids, but I met my husband the old fashioned way - at a party.

Good luck with your research.

It was the kind of raucous party that our anime club was famous for, if I remember right. Well, used to be famous for. The new generation is all boring stuffed shirts and none of them ever really party. Smiley: disappointed They freak out if they get offered drinks and they're not 21.

Since we're too old to party like that any more either, the days of staying up til 5AM playing DDR will just remain memories.

Unless it was strip DDR, that does not sound like a truly wild party.

Strip Kinect Assassin's Creed would be even better.

One person plays the game while the other attempts to remove clothes from the player without the Kinect registering their presence.

Its odd, the larger taz 3.1 Printer is much higher pitched than the older ao-100 which is smaller. I think its a 24 volt vs. 12v reason.
