If you ever go to jail and don't want to be in General Population, just tell them you have genital jewelry you can't get off! I had some tickets that went into warrant. Got pulled over last night as I was pulling into my driveway and got arrested. When they were booking me in, they asked me about piercings/tattoos. I have a couple piercings under the clothes and the last time I changed my jewelry, I needed a pair of pliers to unscrew the balls on the barbells. I relay this information to the guard and he contacts the nurse. The nurse decides instead of messing with my lady parts with a pair of pliers, they were just gonna put me in Segregation until I got out. I asked the guard when I would see the judge in the morning so I could let my SO know to contact a Bailbonds person. The guard informs me that because my total charges are less than $600 and it's for minor citations, I am not eligible for bail meaning I either have to pay the $512 in full or sit them out. I call and relay this to my SO and he comes with the money to get me out.

Pros: I don't have to miss work for 5 days and be at risk for losing my job, the warrants are taken care of, I didn't have to wait until this morning to see the judge to get out. Cons: That money that he pulled out of my account was for bills... Luckily, he is a student and gets his refund check at the beginning of next month so hopefully, I can put some things off until then.

I forgot... Somehow the arresting officer didn't buy that one either. I even had the ticket hanging on the fridge so I would remember to go take care of it. I would go to the fridge, "Oh! I have to pay that!" and something bright and/or shiny would get my attention and I would forget all about it. Friends have jokingly mentioned adult ADHD referring to my short attention span and hyperactivity but now I'm putting a bit more stock in their jest. You all are missing the point! Piercings kept me from getting hit on by scary women!

Oh and the officer was evidently following me down the road, running my tags and it came back with warrants right before I pulled into my driveway. A no seatbelt and expired inspection were the tickets I got months ago.

"Getting arrested" is still on my bucket list. I had hope last year when I got pulled over for speeding only to find out my dl had expired about 8months before that. Apparently the state changed it's notification policy. It used to notify you about an upcoming expired license, but not anymore. You have to actually pay attention to the little card that never comes out of your wallet.

Anyways, the cop insured me that he could send me to jail, but that he was being a good guy in just giving me a ticket.

My arrest record is still devoid of entries and I've never seen the tunnels beneath Disneyland.

I'll remember about the body jewelry though - good tip. Are piercings in the privates annoying, hard to keep clean or frightening to sexual partners?

This one's easy, just get really drunk in your local bar district and urinate in the street.

They stick to the piercings and eliminate the need for clothing in the kitchen perhaps?

The only thing annoying, to me, was waiting 3 weeks for intimate behavior. It is an open wound for the first couple weeks so my piercer suggested going without to limit the risk of infection and/or irritation. I've only had one partner since I got it done and before we got down to business, I asked him how he felt about it. He had never been with someone with a piercing of that nature so he was very curious. It has changed my life in that department because it heightens sensitivity in that area and some things are so much more enjoyable!

How long did you have to "forget" to pay the fine before they arrested you? C'mon, there's more to it than that, right? You like robbed a bank or something.

I got the tickets back in November. When I realized it was past the 14-day period you have to contact the court, I was going to pay them in full after Christmas. The next paycheck I have where I had the money to do this was the 22nd of this month. If I robbed a bank, I don't think it would be as simple as paying off some fines. I assume it would include a bit more jail time than 5hrs.

So where the tickets for robbing a bank then? Or you live in gestapo land or something?

I've gotten a number of traffic tickets in my lifetime, and some for failure to appear and even driving on a suspended license. At no point was I ever arrested, or even had an officer suggest that arrest was a possibility. Maybe it's different here in California, but they tend to just keep giving you tickets until you fail to show up multiple times to a court date, then get a bench warrant out, and even then if the underlying charge is minor (like a moving violation), they still wont arrest you. They'll just issue you another citation.

I've never personally followed the whole process to see just how long you have to ignore something before you'll actually get put into the back of a police car, but I'd imagine it would be like a year or more. Certainly not two months. Here you probably wont have even missed your first court date after just two months.

Here in Texas, you are issued a citation. You have 14 days to make arrangements with the court to either pay it in full or go on a payment plan based on your income. After 20 days, they issue a warrant for your arrest for not taking care of said citations. When you get pulled over and they run your name, it comes across that you have warrants and they have no choice but to take you to jail. I explained to the officer that I was going to pay off the tickets on the 22nd because I realized right before Christmas that they had gone into warrant but money was tight scrimping and saving for presents. He said if he didn't have to, he would waive the warrants and if I didn't appear on the 22nd to pay them, the warrant would be reissued but my name was already ran through and he had to take me in. Either way, it was taken care of but having to pay it all in full to get out last weekend is making things difficult this month until my next paycheck.
