Not necessarily. Still has the caffeine, so you're still a drug addict. Unless we're talking herbal "teas".

I haven't really heard of anyone who adds more than milk and/or sugar. Unless you count herbal teas but those don't deserve to be called tea.

I used to drink an English Breakfast tea that was ok if you added sugar and cream. I'll usually drink the tea that's served at chinese restaurants.

I'm a coffee-holic though. I'd drink bad coffee over good tea any day of the week.

A problem I've seen in most states I've been to is that places don't seem to bring the water to boiling for tea. This is compounded by the fact that they'll bring you a small carafe of water for your tea so it's cooled off a bit before it gets to your table.

You want your water to boil and then cool down again to around 85-90°C for tea.

Generally speaking, green and white teas I think you want a little colder, black teas the hottest.

That said, if you run a cafe you might as well bring the water to your guests as close to boiling as you can and let them figure it out for themselves.

I've had a tea with vanilla and other stuff that was fantastic. I wouldn't drink it when I'm the mood for a good darjeeling or a green tea, but it was still very nice.

I prefer Earl Grey. It's what my grandparents drank and what my dad drank before he switched to some smoked blend. When I grew out of hot coco, I switched to Earl Grey. Drinking tea without the distinctive bergamot taste just feels wrong. Like drinking coffee not made from coffee beans. Makes no sense to me.

Anyway, I drink coffee now. Prefer the strong and bitter taste to the sweet tea. It also tastes better with tobacco than tea does.
