Laphroaig or GTFO.
It's good, but I prefer Lagavulin.
Those are the smoked ones, yeah? My dad drinks that, so that's what I drink when I'm visiting my parents.
Honestly, I'm not sure if I like the smoked taste or not.
Laphroaig is, yes. Lagavulin, not so much. Lagavulin is good though. I had a few this last weekend.
Lagavulin is an Islay malt and is about the same peatyness as Laphroaig, although I haven't had Laphroaig in a while, or that often, so grain of salt.
If you don't like peaty malts, stay away from Islay. Not smoked, but the peat makes it somewhat like drinking a cigar/pipe. I love it.
I'm a bit puzzled if you're saying that Lagavulin isn't peaty. That's odd.
I'm just saying that with Laphroaig I get a big smokey feel from it. The Lagavulin didn't have the same bold smokiness to it. I generally drink the 10 year Laphroaig. I don't know what the age of the Lagavulin was; it could have been a little more aged.
