Congratz on being an independent country for 237 years. Enjoy the fireworks, the booze and whatever else you do to celebrate this.

I finally got around to watching Red Dawn. Also ate chili dogs. Wasn't too bad an Independence Day. As long as I don't have to deal with too many drunk people tonight at work.

Yeah, the R, I, and C aren't visible on a white background.

We went and saw Despicable Me 2 in the nice cool 3-D theater last night.

I always knew that deep down past your red hair and white skin, you had the blue blood of a true American.

We set up a wading pool for the kiddies and I spent most of the day half-awake in a lawn chair.

Meanwhile in Maine...

Quote:
Another tragic parade accident took place in Bangor, Maine, when a man driving a tractor in the Independence Day parade died after a vintage fire truck struck him from behind, authorities said.

Bangor police Sgt. Paul Edwards said the parade had been rerouted because of a four-hour standoff with a gunman who fired several rounds at police from an apartment window.

What could be more Independence Day worthy than firing bullets at the government? Someone give that man a freedom medal.

It was pretty dam cute. My husband let out a loud 'guffaw' at one point - so it was totally worth the trip to the theater.

The 3-D was nothing special however.

Happy July 4th and all. Celebrated the day by watching Olympus Has Fallen two days too late.

Good times.
