So, which admin did you get this approved with?
#3 Jun 25 2013 at 4:34 AM Rating: Default
Hi Poldaran,

I sent an email to both Kaolian and darqflame but haven't received a reply from either yet. When looking at the forum rules it didn't explicitly state that approval was required before posting, just that an email needed to be sent to forum administrators with verified contact information, academic credentials, and a copy of the survey. Since I haven't received a reply from either of them I assumed that this amendment 1 Posting Surveys mean that I only needed to send an email rather than waiting for approval before posting my survey. If I've misinterpreted this then I sincerely apologise.

Permission or not, the user base here is generally against this type of study and the percentage of participants who give you truthful data is going to be very low. You might find a lot of 80 year olds with weird gaming habits in your results. If they even bother enough to fill it out.

I did the survey. I'm not 80 but on the +side of 50. It didn't even take 10mins. I didn't feel like all those questions about teasing and kid behaviors very applicable as on-line gaming didn't exist in my tween/teens and even twenties.

The forum rules Explicitly state that permission is required prior to posting a survey. In this particular case, the survey appears to be a standard issue "games are bad and cause addiction" crap survey that people submit all the time, and would not be allowed anyways. Please do not post it again.

I don't understand why this is such a heinous request?? It's not like threads are waiting in line to make their was onto the front page of the OOT board.

But, if the guy failed to follow the rules, off um'

I did the survey. My survey-karma is content.

For a while there was this immense bombardment of surveys from the University of ... Utah? Was it Utah? It was one of those states that no living being admits to living in unless they're looking for sympathy or pity. Anyway, it was just a ridiculous amount, something like five or six a day.

Denver IIRC.

They had a class that was about online gaming or something.

Utah has polygamists, Colorado has cows.

Missile silos too. It's not every barren wasteland that could destroy the world 200 times over.

That's kind of how I imagine all of America, except that some places have hipsters and others have rednecks.

ocean -> mountains -> flat -> flat -> flat -> river -> flat -> hills -> ocean

I wouldn't recommend the flat parts.

Hipsters are mostly by the oceans, rednecks usually hang out with the tornados.
