The Mexican-style fast-food chain that's best remembered for a 1990s ad in which a Chihuahua proclaimed "I want Taco Bell" in Spanish, introduced a breakfast menu Thursday at nearly 800 restaurants in 14 states.

They felt the need to explain the Taco Bell mascot.

I heard they're gonna sell a "Waffle Taco" along with the breakfast menu.

I think PepsiCo owns Quaker, and Aunt Jemima. They'll implement those into Taco Bell breakfast foods.

On a more serious note, what looks so disgusting about it? Waffles/Pancakes, Sausage, and Scrambled eggs is a relatively tasty breakfast combo. Or is it just a "eww Taco Bell" knee jerk to be cool?

The only waffles I'm familiar with are sweet and sugary, suited for serving with warm cherries and whipped cream, not sausage and eggs.

Must be a regional thing. While I'm familiar with sugar and fruit loaded waffles, sausage is a common addition (minus the whipped cream...).

Personally I've never cared for eating sugar/fruit waffles for breakfast. It's like... sure it tastes good, but I'm not looking to eat dessert for a real breakfast.

Belgian waffles are awesome.

Edit and it's a dessert, not breakfast. There's stuff like biscuits and chocolate sprinkles for breakfast here, no sausages or pancakes.

Biscuits and chocolate sprinkles for breakfast? Somehow I think what I'm imagining isn't what you are talking about...

Biscuits and Sprinkles (Jimmies)?

Ok, so it's pretty much exactly what I was imagining. And you said you eat that as a breakfast?

The egg is fine.

The waffle is fine.

The slimy, **** coloured sausage patty greasily cupping the eggs and smearing itself on the waffle....

Biscuit would be an ex-cop with a 70's pornstache who's addicted to KFC biscuits, and Sprinkles would be an ex-stripper and a single mom looking to start her career over fresh.

They should make a taco shell out of Capt'n Crunch and fill it with yogurt and berries - sprinkles optional.

I still remember what that damn dog said even though that catch phrase hasn't been used in years. Probably one of less than five spanish phrases I know. That's how effective that campaign was. It's a shame it was killed.

I'm with you there. That, and "por que los dos?" from those taco shell commercials.
