An update for anyone who cares (e.g. none of you):

Just got a happy call and I'll be flying out to Montana for my third round interview with the company that happens to have an office four miles from my house. I'm pretty sure they wouldn't blow a thousand dollars on a plane ticket and all expense paid micro vacation for me if they weren't serious about courting me. (I've been told if I have to stay an extra day due to plane flights, they'll cover my gas for me to drive to the nearest national park.)

To hopefully pending re-employment!

Wow! Congrats Smiley: clap

They'd not be flying you out if they weren't ready to offer you a job. If you get to go to a park you should go to Glacier - drive Going to the Sun Road. Of course Old Faithful is worth seeing if you've not already been to yellowstone. Not sure if that's in MT or WY though.

Glacier is the closest one, but I have family out by Yellowstone (in Red Lodge) and the Billings area. However, I've been to Yellowstone sooooo Glacier it would probably be, aunts and uncles and cousins be damned.

I'm waiting for an email with all the details. I'm super excited about this job, since I'd be using that shiny new master's degree to its fullest extent.

Catwho flies to Montana.

Eaten by giant bird spiders.

Never heard from again.

Ugh. I did a phone interview once. It sucked. You lack the visual clues to know when someone has started and/or stopped speaking. I talked over the interviewer once, but a couple times sorting out my answer to a question left an awkward silence. Be careful.

Good Luck!

I've found the opposite. I've even been told by one employer "You sounded much better on the phone than in person." Being unconventional looking (don't wear a bra, dress in men's clothes, fat) I don't benefit from the visual cues as much as I might, and my phone voice is awesome.

How did the interview go?
#72 Jun 27 2013 at 10:48 AM Rating: Excellent
All of them have gone well. The one with the folks I'd actually be working with was the best out of all of them. I asked the kind of questions they'd apparently wanted someone to ask, like "so have you looked at the mobile aspects of this program?" and stuff. Yes, that's a big issue they're having apparently, so that launched into ten minutes of all the errors the poor iPad users are getting XD

It's just a matter of whether I'm slightly cheaper and slightly more awesome than the other people at this point.

ZAM will be the second to know after the hubby.
