So, every year there's a debate on whether or not there's an "attack on Christmas". I haven't seen any threads on this for awhile. What say ye?

I stopped watching O'reilly and don't watch Fox and Friends anymore, so I don't hear anything about the War on Christmas these days.

I initially started watching O'reilly and Fox to see the "other side", but now it's getting too much. I can't stand news stations that go in repeat, so I try to watch all, but Fox is the only "conservative" channel out there. So, I try to keep it "Fair and Balanced", by limiting Fox with other channels.

Just like with Bengazi, it seems that FOX is the only source that cares about this topic.

Every year I feel sad for the lives of all the pine tree's that die. It's also sad that I know people who get real tree's in this day.

Christmas trees are commercially farmed. If there was no market for them, they wouldn't have been planted in the first place. It's like feeling sad for a corn field.

A tree is a soul to me damnit, don't try an give me your government jargon. As for the people getting them, I guess the pine needle karma is their own hell.

American Family Radio mentioned the coming war on Christmas just yesterday, as a lead in from their story about how a town potentially removing a cross from its iconography was a redistribution of socialism.

Oh, yea.. I was going to say to "don't infringe on my belief system", but then decided to go with an inaccurate combination of the two on accident.Smiley: glare

Haha your dum?

Just kidding.

While I don't necessarily think that the nativity scene should be on the front steps of the local courthouse, I wouldn't start a movement about it. And I don't really care if the Wal-Mart greeter is saying "Happy Holidays" or "Merry Christmas." As long as they don't drool on me too much.

I've always said, Happy Holidays makes sense because it encompasses Christmas and New years, if that's what you celebrate.

I remember the dilemma back when I worked retail.

Eventually I just switched over to wishing people a good day. Being politically correct is such a pain in the *** sometimes.

To be fair, most of my unreadable sentences come from that. I start off writing a sentence one way, then I change thought mid sentence and I never fully correct it.

I absolutely hated working retail. You had to be so PC and some people griped at you for NOT saying "Merry Christmas" instead of "Happy Holidays". I am not a particularly religious person but it has been and always will be "Merry Christmas" to me. I think the whole PC movement has gotten a bit out of hand. If you are Atheist, say "Happy Holidays". If you are Christian, say "Merry Christmas". I think everyone should just chill and smile that someone said something nice to them no matter what denomination, if any, they are from.

But does fir needle tea taste as good as pine needle tea?

We got ours over the weekend, because the holiday starts earlier every year, and the dog has already tried to pee on it, so we had to put a gate around it. On side note, it was something else for the wife and daughter to decorate so it worked out in the end.

We cruised our little fir forest this weekend for the perfect tree. We flagged one and will cut it next weekend.
