Halloween Plans?Follow

Lets hear em!

I already did my event, a few of my 'fab' friends decorate every year and throw a bash. Older gays have the niche on that ya know. The actual holiday I won't be doing much aside from watching TV and ...stuff I do everyday anyway. We don't get trick or treaters even in this neighborhood.

Halloween? Wasthat?

So yeah, nobody celebrates Halloween here so it'll go by unnoticed, the closest I've come to celebrating Halloween was celebrating my mom's birthday last weekend (today's her actual birthday) and opening a bottle of Fantôme Saison.

On the Actual day? Nothing.
I've already been to 2 costume parties, one each weekend for the last 2 weeks. Dressed as a Thugicorn (Unicorn, but thugged) for one and some $10 cheap mask thing I found at a store for the other. Much booze and food were put inside me. Both were really good times.

Iuno, it's my little brother's 22nd today so going out for drinks. Probably not doing anything huge for Halloween itself, though.

I need to shave my beard tomorrow for Movember so maybe I'll spend Halloween as my twin from the Evil Twin Universe...

Have 2 little matching Minnie Mouse costumes ready to go. My eldest has been wearing hers most of the week, and can't wait to go trick-or-treating with her older cousin.

Should be fun. Smiley: grin

My youngest is too young to really get into it and my eldest is too old to be hanging out with his dad for Halloween. So I'll be at home with my candy.

Joph Jr. is going as the Scout from Team Fortress 2. Simple costume but it looks good. I went up three Dad notches in his eyes when I bought a "full length" toy shotgun and sawed it down to "Force-A-Nature" size for him.

I am boycotting the event after the last few years. I walk my kids around the neighborhood and teach then them to keep the sidewalk and the driveway and say please and thank you. Meanwhile, loads of kids, run across lawns and push them out of the way. Coupled with teens, without costumes, demanding more candy than what we hand out... Oh and when we shut off our light last year, because the kids were in bed, people continued to ring the bell and some even tried to open the storm door! I understand not everyone has a neighborhood but I teach my kids manners and will not deal with this stuff. This year the Halloween Goblin is hiding candy for them in the house to find and I will call the police on anyone who tries to open my front door.

I wish I could go out and have fun on halloween!
Sadly, I have to work from 10pm to 6am that night. Work sucks!

I'll probably sit down with a nice cold hard cider and watch the original Halloween. Maybe when that's over I'll see what else I can find on Netflix. I missed The Rocky Horror Picture Show on Saturday night at the theater because of other plans. My nephew and his girlfriend dressed up as Brad and Janet. I prepped him on some of the things they needed to do to really get into it. He said it was a blast.

This pretty well matches what I'm doing that night as well, though it'll be from 11pm-7am. I just hope no one rings the bell and wakes me up while I'm trying to sleep in.

I guess we'll be continuing our "monster" movie Halloween morning tradition this year as well. Last year was American Werewolf in London, this year I think we're watching Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter.

Wow, you've got an awesome writing style.! I really dig the narrator's back story, humor, sarcasm, and the plethora of pop culture references. Altogether a refreshingly different RotR journal (not that I don't like the more traditional ones, mind you).

I know my "boycott Halloween" plans are not popular but I am tired of my kids being pushed out of the way by rude kids, I insist they follow the sidewalk and driveways. Meanwhile the hubby deals with older kids, in no costumes, demanding more candy. This year the Halloween Goblin decorated the house in spider webs, hid candy, we had a leisurely dinner and watched movies. Best. Halloween. Ever,

I was offered and accepted a job that I originally applied for in February. In short, my Halloween was amazing.

I like money.
