The other day I was watching Dragon Ball Z while playing Call of Duty and got really hungry, so I went to make a BLT only to discover I didn't have any bacon. I cried myself to sleep.
You know I was going to dig through lolgaxe's images for an appropriate reply, but when I saw it was 83 pages worth of images I said "@#%^ it".
I feel the same way most of the time. Then I upload another page of images.

For a moment there I thought that was me, and was wondering when I had a shirt like that. Smiley: lol

I've got a bartender who does all my remembering for me. I just toss money at him and he brings me stuff that makes the pain go away. What pain, you might ask. Sobriety.

It stings.

People don't seem to realize that making threads is its own contribution. it doesn't really matter whats in them. If you have more than 3,000 points your karma is essentially invincible, and the more people you manage to annoy without crossing the lines the more posts you tend to get. The more posts your thread draws, the more viewers you get in the forum which in theory create additional threads. There should be at least 4 or 5 active new threads on the front page at any given time, by 5 or 6 different people. Thats the gestalt that brings people in to post. I've found it really can't be too many admin posts either

I gave up on guru. Sage was somewhere near 5k or so posts I think. The way I was spamming back then though, it could have been lower and it took me to 5k before I noticed it.

I keep wanting to make new threads, but I also think about how close I am to Sage, and how posting anything but a ding thread will result in moving away from that. I don't typically make replies to threads as much anymore because: A.) Someone has already said what I was going to say several hours before or B.) The subject of the thread is not interesting.

Also:

Making sub forums for those topics effectively killed them. Sure, plenty of people still use =22 games, but there would be much more activity surrounding the topics there if they could simply be posted here. If people didn't think it'd be a waste of time posting in a sub forum no one reads, there'd be a lot more new topics as well. Look what happened when they made a Minecraft sub-sub forum. It is as if they are trying to divide and conquer their own forums.

Of course, the Asylum is active during an election year, but the lack of opposing viewpoints has it weighed down a lot.

ok, I just rated you down a whole bunch, so you don't have to worry about being close to sage anymore. Smiley: schooled
