Buy it digitally from the Everquest 2 website. There's no benefit for having the disks.

And if you buy it digitally, you can get it for 66% off if you are crafty.

Fry's off Northgate/N. Sunrise depending on your location. They will probably have it and if they don't you're SOL but again, why would you want discs?

He'll be able to reinstall the game once this Internet fad goes away.

Do they even sell it on disks? I have always preferred disk myself because its usually the same cost and feel like I am getting more.

That's like saying you're getting more for the same money when you get your fast food to go, because you get to keep the bag.

Ehh a box with colorful artwork, a map, dvd's, etc is alot better than a greasy paper bag. And for people with slower connections its nice to be able to install a major chunk of the game with dvd's instead of downloading the whole thing. If they want to force digital downloads on people they should reduce the price as I am sure its alot cheaper to host a download than it is to print boxes, manuals, dvd-roms, etc. In fact a lot of times I have found games on disk cheaper in local stores than places like Steam.

Again is this even available on disk? I don't think it is.

I also noticed this is out of topic I guess this should be in the eq2 forums.

The cost of the physical media is an almost negligible amount of the cost of the game. It's not like a new game costs 60 dollars because it costs them 45 dollars to create the CD/DVD and print a box/manual. The game costs is there to cover development costs. The game costs just as much to develop whether it's distributed digitally or by hard copy.
