I'm sure you can get a lovely sirloin out of Mr. Ed, but I haven't looked into it, either. I just know that the Grade D But Edible labeling includes "assorted horse parts," after I saw a box labeled that make it's way into a Taco Bell in Fort Dix, New Jersey and I got curious what that exactly meant.

Not that I'm calling you a liar or anything... but.

Off topic but, when I was in college, some government agency demanded that my university close down its herpetology building as the building was deemed unsuitable for housing snakes and lizards. So the school moved all the snakes and lizards into the art department sculpture labs and moved the sculpture labs into the herpetology building. I guess the building was still suitable for housing art students.

Well, yeah. Snakes and lizards are more useful than art students.

I hate Doritos and I hate tacos, so there is no chance of me ordering that travesty. Well, let me rephrase that. I hate beef tacos, and I prefer soft to hard. The only thing ground beef should be used for is hamburgers/cheeseburgers, and part of a meatball (Italian sausage needs to be present as well). There is a reason I order my weekly volcano burrito with refried beans instead of beef. That extra 25 cents the shop here charges me, because their employees are too stupid to use a sub button, is worth it.

No one gives a damn what they do in France.

We're always keeping an eye on what they do in France. Just in case they get any...funny ideas.

They also eat snails in France. And frogs. And moose ****.

I assume they eat moose ****, anyway. Anyone who eats snails, horse and frogs probably enjoys warm moose ****.

Yeah, looks tasty, right?

I saw a segment on Travel Channel about a place like that in NYC. Apparently, the one in NYC has a full kitchen behind the service area and the food actually looks to be of a decent quality. I'm not sure if I'd want something that was sitting in one of those little cubbie holes all day, but if it was fresh I don't see the problem with it.

They always have a kitchen and usually a counter as well. They also have to abide by the same rules as any other fast food place in that the food can't lie there for more than 10 minutes at most I think. (Something along those lines anyway).
It's really not bad, it just looks horrible.

Wait, you guys have laws about how long pre-made fast food can sit under heat lamps before it has to be thrown away?

What seems obvious to me is the restaurants policing themselves on this. Then if a certain establishment or chain gets a reputation for serving old food, people stop going there and as a result they close down. Or, heaven forbid, somebody gets sick and that leads to an investigation by the local board of health type agency that leads to sanctions.

I don't know that we have any specific laws reagarding this over here, although it's always possible that the Board of Health has regulations about this.

Prevention is better then curing the problem if you ask me. Why take unnecessary risks when it comes to people's health?

Because eating at a bad restaurant is like getting a free lotto ticket with dinner. You never know when you might get sick enough to sue for mega millions. Smiley: nod

How do you people live like that?! Smiley: confused

You see we all came to this country looking for a better life. Just because there are those among us that are incapable of achieving that doesn't mean we should give up hope on them altogether. Everyone deserves a chance to make it big.

It's not a perfect system. I mean, what happens when you try to sue Taco Bell for giving you food poisoning?

"Your Honor, I literally crapped out my spleen."
"Yes, you ate at Taco Bell. That's normal. Case dismissed."

Every flavor I've tried, yes. The flavoring is just too artificial. I'm not a big chip person to begin with, but when I do eat them, I love me some kettle chips. Particularly the cheddar or sea salt and vinegar flavors. I like tortilla chips with queso dip from time to time as well.
