I don't know about that. Apparently being on the offensive side of the ball when the Saints' D is on the field is pretty dangerous.

Being a rabid Saints fan, I am of course, pissed beyond all belief about the "bountygate" penalties.

Being a levelheaded and someone intelligent person, I look at it like this. The Saints were definitely running a bounty program for the 09-11 season. During those 3 seasons, very few Saints players were flagged for unnecessary roughness or other "flagrant foul" type penalties. Zero Saints players were suspended and/or fined by the NFL for illegal hits. The illegal part of a bounty system is the circumvention of the salary cap by paying players under the table. There are clear precedents for penalties for salary cap violations, and the penalties the Saints received was harsh and excessive compared to those precedents. The Saints deserved a harsher than normal penalty because they were warned to stop by the league and disregarded the warning. Even taking that into account, the penalty is still needlessly harsh.

The NFL is currently being sued by a group of former players, including one former Saints quarterback, for not protecting its players, and because of this, they decided to bring the hammer down on the Saints so they can show the court, "See, we really DO care about our player!"

Edit: As far as the danger of Brocato's goes, it's solely in going there and eating so much you won't be able to fit out of the doors when it's time to leave. I stopped there on the way home yesterday and spent $23 on goodies. They have the best cannoli I've ever had and the italian cookies they sell are awesome.

It's one of those things where probably every team was doing it, but they were dumb/unlucky enough to get caught.

I absolutely agree about the being dumb enough to get caught and the reducing injury standpoints. Also, it was really dumb to keep it up after the NFL warned them in 2010.
