So I've got my flights to and from Pakistan booked.

I have got a visa for 90 days, but I'll probably stay a few weeks longer if I can get an extension - that's what I booked my flights for anyway.

Accommodation, food, servants, pay and a couple of shopping trips to Dubai are arranged, as well.

I'll try to see the rest of the country at some point and possibly get a semi-regular driver to see the rest of Karachi, too, but I think that will be easier to do once I'm there.

I'm still trying to get my German scholarship/loan for the summer and next year and an extra scholarship to get back my flight and visa money, but I technically don't need either to get this done (and if circumstances change, as I expect they will, I might not be eligible for student loans next year anyway).

So yay for going to a third world country to make fun of how I still get better hours and benefits than all you guys in the US! Well, hopefully, anyway.

It's kind of a standard because of all the load shedding and such - you can't really keep food that way and you can't do your washing in one of them fancy electrical thingies. And other stuff like that. Which means cheap labour instead.

From what I've heard, I've got a generator at home there, but catering 7 days a week and guards are definitely part of the deal from what I've heard from people who have lived in the same place.

Of course, I might move to Clifton or Defence (the affluent parts of town) if I can justify the cost and have proper private servants there. The downside is that it's a 90 minute commute to work from there. The beach is closer, though...

Personal drivers and servants are pretty standard over there.

To be fair, burqa might work. But I think guys try that all of the time, probably, and I wouldn't want to make my housemates uncomfortable.
