I know they're pretty cheesy, but the new year can present an opportunity to at least try to focus on changing something about yourself. I've really only got two "resolutions," but have been working on some short- and long-term goals for myself, as I'm not quite happy with where I am in life, and that isn't likely to change on its own.

Lots of people make weight loss a goal, and while I do need to lose weight and have a goal for that, my resolution is just to generally live healthier. The weight loss will come with a healthy lifestyle.

I also want to make an effort to start playing music again. I haven't played much over the past year, and I know my skills have eroded at least somewhat. I should probably find a group to at least jam with occasionally.

Getting a job is easy. Getting a job you want is a bit mroe of a challenge.

Except if it were baby photos, it would be like looking at before and afters of Michael Jackson. Only instead of turning into a white guy, he changes into a chick!

Something involving sanctions against Canada for stealing city names, but I doubt I can get the UN to pass it in time.

Take my job - it will do the job. I have dropped 2 sizes in just a few months. I don't relish the day to day life though...

My resolutions are:
To get back to the weight I was at before I joined the Navy.
See how long I can go not shaving.
Learn to play piano.
Study Japanese more.
Start school again.

So much to do for 2012!

In a way. In 2009 I got sick after getting to Pascagoula. Fast forward 2 years I never got better and Navy doctors couldn't figure out why so I got the boot.

I blame Hurricane Katrina and the black water I cleaned up in the satellite system I worked on.

Decided not to make any resolutions this year besides "Keep up what I'm doing already since it's working."

I mean, hell, I got named "Most Organized" at my office this year. Me! Most organized! Somewhere, one of my K-12 teachers is suddenly having a fit of goosebumps. I was the most notoriously disorganized child at any school I went to. I was practically a hoarder in college. I embraced an austere lifestyle some time ago, when I learned to let go of physical things, and now my clutter is confined to the shelf of figurines I posted here a few months ago.

The usual for me. Loose weight. Exercise more. Stop putting up with the bullshyt at work and do something about it.

As all my dreams are coming true and I've got some major stuff planned pretty much every month this coming year, half of which has to do with self-improvement anyway, I don't really have any. I want to get everything done as planned, but that was pretty much my "wish" last Beltane and it's all come better and every new idea that pops up gets executed within months.

I don't even know. The things that take time (like finishing university) I obviously cannot speed up, but I seem to do everything within schedule and more.

I've developed a social circle outside the Internet (mixing university studies and religious gatherings has rather interesting effects), I've started university, which is something I decided to do 3 years ago and worked toward on the straightest part ever since... I wanted to go to uni in Pakistan, but going to uni in the UK and going to Pakistan is way cooler; I sort of had a couple of people who I wanted to date, got to be with both of them for a while and ended up with the one who's more reasonable (and super pretty!) and uh... I have money! Everything is looking up.

Also lost some weight without even trying. I'm not trying for anything as much as I used to and it's just all easier now. Yay!

So really, no resolutions this year because everything is awesome as it is and I've got to figure out more long-term goals because they're all coming true too quickly.
