Celebrating Christmas?Follow

What did you do for Christmas this year? This year I spent Christmas with a friend from work. It was enjoyable and Goddess that food was
good. Stuffed and happy I spent time talking with her and her family. It was like magic and suddenly everyone was asleep on the
couches. about four hours later most of us woke up and had cake or pie and coffee before heading back home. It was a really good
time for me. After the past couple of years of nothing it was the best Christmas present I could have had.

I spent it with the inlaws watching my 8 and 5 year old nieces unwrapping presents like the little mad ladies they are. Christmas Eve was spent with my parents, which I was finally able to witness my very intoxicated mother try out just dance on the wii.

Oh the memories.

I'm glad you had a nice Christmas Tailmon.

We spent the morning at home with some very wound up kids, then went to my Mom's for dinner with my brother and Aunt and Uncle.

Spent Christmas Eve at my brother's, eating the traditional tomato soup, potato salad and sausages and his kids got their presents. Received the letters resolving my financial issues in Scotland (I only have about 4 months of savings left to live off) and the Pakistan one I posted about. Both were better than traditional Christmas presents.

Yesterday I spent most of the day watching the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf rally live stream (which had a feel of being a historical event), had a roast goose and potato dumplings with my mum and her husband in the afternoon.

Going ice skating with my brother and his family today, cooking with friends tomorrow, spending more time with friends on Wednesday morning and then I'll be driven around the country till New Year's Day to visit random relatives.

Then after that I'll drag my mum on our customary shopping trip - she has so little idea what I can use that she just shops for my Christmas presents after the date while I'm there to tell her what I want; this year I wanted to drag her to Ann Summers (or the German equivalent thereof), which she refused, and the Islamic shop, which she didn't refuse (yet).

This year was all meh...

Christmas Eve I went to a strange church with my Father's side (Grandparents, Aunt and Uncle) for Starlight celebration.
Before leaving I put my contacts in and before we were half way there they started to bug me. They had to come out.
I didn't grab my bag with my cleaning solution and eye drops. So my eyes were irritated and I was basically blind (I can see shape and colors w/o them) when we arrived. Having nothing to hold them in on the trip they started to dry out, and I also dropped one.
Once there I needed to go to the restroom so I could hopefully get my issue worked out so I could see. I saw my brother head off in the direction (again new Church my Grandparents go to, 1st time I've ever been) of the restrooms. A few bodies shuffled around and this is where the Down Hill spiral starts. I go in and head to the sink like object I can see. Hit the water and get my contacts to soften back up. Awesome. I get the right eye in, I can see! Somewhat.
I hear a child talking, and really think nothing of it, until I glance over and see what looks to be a girl and her mother.
Smiley: lol
Say I'm sorry, and bust out and into the other room to get good 'ol left eye in. It never worked out. I went the rest of the night with one contact in and the rest of the world in a colorful blur.
After church we went and ate our Xmas Eve dinner. We opened a few gifts and then sat around and talked for a few hours. Not to bad except my left eye was slightly still irritated and I could hardly see.

Xmas morning all went smooth. We did our thing, we cleaned house like we do every year. I got ready because my Mother's side would be coming over for a late lunch/dinner. I had sat down to color this 3D Pop-up Poster my brother felt I "had to have." People started showing up, and I started doing blind Smiley: frown
Wiggly lines and blank spots in my vision. The only time I've ever had this happen was when I use to get horribly migraines when I was younger. They whole migraine would come in stages. This was stage one and I had about 30min to "contain" or go full blown. I was able to get some migraines meds in and I had to lay down because I could not see and I was starting to feel sick. No idea how long I slept (maybe an hour) but I woke up with an awesome headache and was white as a ghost. I was able to enjoy some of the get together last night, but basically standing up for more then 5min my head felt like it was going to explode so I had to sit/lay.
So I watched random TV Shows on netflix last night.

Today my head still lightly hurts (like when I cough and sneeze ><) but I think a few Tylenol will fix it.

Good times...

My family started opening presents around 8-9am, after which I went upstairs and played some minecraft. Around noon, my little sister, my mom, and I watched X-Men: First Class (my sister got it on DVD, she got captain america on blue ray, too, which I think we're gonna watch tonight). After that, I played more minecraft. Then Fillet Mignon for dinner, and minecraft until sleep.

I'm addicted to minecraft.

Except if it were baby photos, it would be like looking at before and afters of Michael Jackson. Only instead of turning into a white guy, he changes into a chick!

Eve: Pretty simple day, my cousin had came into town, and then her mother came over...we all had Soup & Sandwiches and exchanged a few gifts early in the day. My cuz gave us a box full of meat (steaks, roast, chops, etc), my aunt gave us a few little things as well...mostly new dishes for the critters.

Day: Mom had to work, but I spent all day cooking for us and my aunt and cousin, though my cousin was unable to come into town. I went to my friends who, doesn't have custody of her kids, or family, or many people in town that just like her in general...and had her come over as well for some food and some TV watching.

I worked at the Mission.

The food was awesome; it was catered, and prime rib was the main dish.

ALSO: Adam Vinatieri was gonna serve us but couldn't make it. His parents did, though, so that was nice.

I drove my wife the kids and the MiL to church, I waited in the car and watched something on netflix until they finished. Then we went to her cousins house for Christmas eve dinner, I got to say I love Cuban food. After that we went home, got woken up in morning by my daughter screaming "SANTA GOT ME A BUNCH OF TOYS". Opened a bunch of presents, played Rocksmith all day in between opening all the Fort Knox style packages they put toys in these days.

I spent the day at my parents' house with extended family, had a nice lunch and dinner there. Then got food poisoning and spent all of christmas night sleeping on the bathroom floor between episodes of vomiting.

My husband and I got food poisoning last year. It didn't hit until the day after Christmas, but we both thought we were going to die. It was horrible.

In extremely rare circumstances, food poisoning can hit in 12 hours, but typically it's 24+. You may have gotten sick from the food you ate, but it most likely wasn't food poisoning.
