What's up with this 6th star business I see under peoples names? This is no 6th star god damn it.
Yeah well tell that to the Stormcloaks. They love it when you try to convince them there is one less of something.

They added it in sometime in the last year. I don't know the reason why. Maybe cause people wanted more stars?

I'd like a reply from an admin that has a post count that would make me think they were around prior to this 6th star.
IIRC, the last big forum update we did standardized how some things looked and behaved. I think standardizing the stars (and letting there be more of them) was a part of that. I normally stay out of the design-/visuals-related sides (being a colourblind minimalist and all,) but I think that's what it was.
We just moved the "no star" limit out. Now there is no 560th star...
Ah poo...and I was looking forward to that star... :(

5th*
In the beginning, there was the void. a great vast nothingness, filed with the absense of any MMO's except for Legend of the red dragon which was more a BBS thing so it really didn't count. Anyways, Allakhazam said, Lo, and let there be an Allakhazam page with a spinny brass helmet animated gif and a wizard staff and some game info. And it was so. And he did fill in the tables of info, and close unto them the href tags with much zeal. And soon, forumites came to this new land, yet they could not speak, for there was no forum. And Allakhazam said "Let there be forum!" and the UBBforums came into being with a shower of green sparks, which no one was expecting. But there were no stars. And thus did the forumites weep and gnash teeth, for they had farms, yet no stars to farm in them, and thus a great funk befell the land. But Allakhazam heared our pleas, and upgraded UBB to the next version that had stars, and at once we were star stuff! but nevesomuch as to exceed the limit of the fourth star in that time. Mainly because the 5th star kept causing people to spontaniously combust (turns out it was a miscoded image tag, apperently that makes people explode sometimes.)
What game(s) are you guys actively playing? What game(s) are you looking forward to?
I don't care if it's not still "Ask an Admin Day," I was busy not posting my 10k.
FFXIV, Skyrim, MW3, Civ V. I'd like to play BF3 and maybe try out the new Star Wars MMO sometime but idk when I will get around to it.

While I loved Kaos story, I think it actually had to do with nobody actually having a large enough post count. You got your third star at 1000 and fourth star at 4000 iirc. People kept wondering when the fifth star would finally appear. Eventually someone(Joph? lol) hit 10k and was greeted with "There is no 5th Star".
I miss the no-fifth-star. It was a symbol of allakhazam. Getting rid of it was just blasphemous.

Tell me more about this java position.. <.<; I've taken a fair share of programming classes at school. (CSE114/214/219 were java. CSE230. CSE376. Taking CSE346 next semester. I've worked with assembly as well. http://sb.cc.stonybrook.edu/bulletin/current/courses/cse/ )

Late question. But can we re-institute a logoff procedure that is url based? ie: I can once again properly use the button so that people who click it log themselves off allakhazam?
i know it is well past the day, but out of curiosity what is my post/day stat?
This caused me to get curious and check my 250 ranking. I'm at 69 this year for my birthday, and interestingly, I was at 69 last year on my birthday as well. Neat. also, wowisuck at 4.60 posts/day. To bad I can't backtrack past 1/1/2010 to see what my average posts/day was before I got hit by the boredom breaks around 9500 posts (If an admin can and wants to answer that, I'd give you a . Or if someone has a link to danalog's old rankings and they're still accessible, I'd that as well, since I lost my bookmark)

I completely agree, I was really sad the first time I saw that the old skin was completely gone and I suddenly had a fifth star. It felt dirty. It still does.

Except if it were baby photos, it would be like looking at before and afters of Michael Jackson. Only instead of turning into a white guy, he changes into a chick!
I don't think that reverance or respect for the dead needs the dead to be hidden from sight completely. It is the attitude that you bring, as a witness to a dead body, that matters, not the display and witnessing of a dead body, per se.
You are so much more in with the in crowd without it.
