Haha, yeah just noticed that. Now I'm wondering why he assumed it. Perhaps it's because the overwhelming revulsion that I demonstrate towards him reminds me of the way that all women react in his presence in real life.

He's done that before with people he's disagreed with and he doesn't like.

I, personally, think it's just a sub-conscious signal that he hates women. :D

Nah, that would require him actually understanding what you're saying, wouldn't it?

Joking aside, I actually do think that's the case. He's made some overt signals that there's some serious resentment there.

Lol, now I understand... You are completely confused.

My reference to Ugly making stuff up was him claiming that I didn't actually make that argument in the previous thread. I countered with "nice try" and recapped the thread, demonstrating that I was indeed making that argument in the previous thread and that he was just making stuff up.

Therefore, I am correct and you are wrong.

There you just conflated two separate posts of yours, responding to two different points by Ugly.

Here I thought you were going to play the "Misstate the argument, then claim that we actually agree" card (a favorite of yours, as you know). Instead you went with the "Jumble up the actual progression of the discourse and rewrite it as it best suits me" one. You should get "Willful Misunderstanding" tattooed on your forehead.

Poor Ugly...I bet he was really holding out for that apology. Smiley: lol

That's a lot of writing just to avoid to say that you were wrong. The best thing about forums is that everything is written.

You are wrong, plain and simple. He accused me of never making that argument. I said that he was making stuff up. I never asked you or anyone on the difference of anything. You made that statement and proceeded to respond to your own comment as if I asked that question.

It's all there.

Actually, what I was trying to imply was "you reap what you sow," which I can see being misinterpreted as "everything is peaches and cream." What I was doing was trying to give you feedback on why you get it significantly more than other people since you started posting asking why, and quite a few people have previously said you are an idiot. At least you have clarified that you are clearly "trolling for the lulz," as some people would put it.

What?

I never asked anything. As I stated, I merely pointed out the fact that people went ape bananas when I gave the same argument.

Here's the thing that you're not understanding. I know why people treat me differently, it's because it's not based on merit but which side of the fence you are on most of the time. I've said that numerous times and people deny it. Even if I were the biggest douche in the world, that doesn't justify arguing against my point. So this whole thing about me being annoying, blah, blah, blah does not have any value on your view of my opinion of an argument.

My bad, we had this conversation before and I couldn't remember which one it was. It was a 50/50 chance

Don't we have a smiley with a guy moving his finger around his head for the "crazy" symbol? I feel like we do. Anyway, that would go here, if I knew it.

Tinfoil hat guy will have to act in his stead, since he seems comparably loco.

Since I'm not "self-aware" enough, why don't you educate me on how it sucks and is somehow different from any other poster here?

You don't consider that a question, or was that supposed to be rhetorical?

No one's going to waste their time arguing with you about your opinion unless you present it as a fact. And since you've already said that you love to argue, it requires a lot of suspension of disbelief for most people to believe you really feel how you present yourself is not important.

Out of curiosity, did Alma ever give a reason why he was against homosexuals or homosexual marriage or whatever other than it was unnatural or icky?

Among his arguments were:

A) "The ***** goes in the ******."

B) "The situation is currently equal, because heterosexuals can't marry someone of the same sex, and homosexuals have the opportunity to marry someone of the opposite sex."

I'm not even kidding. Seriously.

I've seen option B before, although that's not really a personal argument as to why one would be against homosexual marriage so much as one's rationalization as why it's not unequal, but isn't the first one just the equivalent to "It's unnatural"? I vaguely remember there was this thing where he (or maybe it was gbaji?) ended up saying that just because something is natural it doesn't mean it's good and just because it's unnatural it doesn't mean it's bad and that he had an objective reason for why he was against homosexual marriage. My lurking time has been sporadic since I started work, as it's blocked there.

It's pretty long, but it's a good read, if you're interested in that sort of thing. It's interesting because, when he "was gay," he argued strongly for a society where there were no labels like "gay" or "straight." That "sexual and gender identities are culturally constructed rather than biologically fixed."

This is the stance officially supported by most gender studies experts. But same-sex desire and gay identity are two separate things. Consider ancient Rome. Men were having same-sex encounters all over the place, but there was no gay "identity."

The "Straight" identity itself didn't actually form until after the homosexual identity emerged, historically. The term heterosexual wasn't even created until nearly two decades after homosexual was.

That was the question I asked Eske that he didn't answer. You know, the question that I've been saying that he didn't answer.

I misspoke. I didn't ask YOU anything. If you were paying attention, that quoted question is what I quoted as being an unanswered question.

My mistake. I didn't ask you anything that required a response. You opted to do that on your own.

#125Almalieque, Posted: Jun 22 2011 at 8:22 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Way to completely miss the point. It's not that I get treated differently in the sense that you are "mean" to me.. I don't care. It's the fact that it appeared that the concept of someone making a decision to act upon natural feelings that may have changed received much more understanding when someone else said it.

As I said, I can be the biggest douche in the world, but if I say something with merit, my douchery doesn't take away from the merit.

If anything you say ever has any merit, it's once in a blue moon, and it's buried under ten tons of ****. You only have yourself to blame.
