When it comes to birth control, it's a lot harder figuring out how to stop a bajillion little sperm than one little egg, but a scientist in India has managed to develop an injection for men that has so far proven to be 100% effective and completely reversible with no side effects. Sign me up.

The injection is called RISUG, which stands for "reversible inhibition of sperm under guidance." Let's just get the uncomfortable bit out of the way first: you can't just be injected anywhere, the doctor has to stick a needle into your *******. Twice. Yeah, bad times, but you'll deal, and here's why: after two tiny injections taking all of 15 minutes, study after study has shown that the injection is 100% effective at preventing pregnancy. You won't suffer any side effects at all, it lasts a minimum of 10 years, and it's completely reversible with another few injections.

Why is birth control always safer and more effective when done by men? Why does it always have to be such an incredibly disturbing procedure?

Because the delivery methods are developed by women. Case Closed.

I think that's the truth of how it works. I'd bet all they inject is something simple like saline, but when the needle gets that close to your ********** they freak out and say, "Welp, that's it. I'm on vacation.".

I use to have contraceptive injections in my butt muscle, that ached for a few days afterward (but it lasted for 3 months and didn't make me feel ill like the pill did). I guess it depends how much they inject, but I wouldn't like to have that sort of ache in that area.

On a somewhat random note I wonder if it makes the ***** taste any different, guessing that probably wasn't part of the study.

This makes me think of this.

10 years is pretty awesome for duration.

I had an ex who was dead against male contraceptives (cant remember if it was an injection or pill that we were talking about) for some reason he figured it was ok for me to ***** around with my hormones/reproductive system in order not to get pregnant but there was no way he was going to do that. I wonder how many guys would get this if it was available and how many will view it as the woman's responsibility.

Could also be a nice alternative for vasectomies as an injection is less scary than things being snipped down there and allows you to change your mind more easily.

I can just see the men of the Oot lining up for it!

I can tell you'll of another treatment that will make sure you don't have kids. The side effects might be unwanted though.

If it turned out to be the best option after we did research, I'd do it. I find the idea quite repulsive, but I'm pretty sure I'd get over it, and it's really stupid to ask someone else to risk her safety so that you can avoid being a little mentally uncomfortable.

It probably works because once you get a shot twice to the balls you're not going to want to let them out for at least 10 years.

The ******* is one of the most sensitive places on a men. I can only imagine how painful a shot in there would be. Granted the affects are probably much less severe than messing with women's natural cycle.

The more I think about it, the more awesome it sounds. I mean, I could seriously say the following to my GF if I got that procedure:

"Don't worry about getting pregnant, baby. I have Electro-Balls."

While I agree that it is unfair to expect women to use contraception without expecting men to do it as well, we shouldn't ignore the health benefits that go along with OCPs (oral contraceptive pills) either. They help keep the menstrual cycle on a regular schedule, which I think most women appreciate. They also decrease the risk of ovarian and endometrial cancer, as well as having a protective effect against infection. (They also reduce acne if that's a problem for you too.) There is some risk associated with them as well (you should not use them if you are over age 35 and a smoker, as they can increase your risk of heart problems), but the positive effects outweigh the bad as long as you listen to your doctor. I personally think it's worth considering for any woman who isn't trying to get pregnant, whether or not they are sexually active. I'm not saying it's good for everyone, but shouldn't be ignored either.

Unless it's buttsecks.

Hubby has already been snipped so this would be a moot point for him. But I'll tell ya right now, he would have gone for the injections instead of the surgery.

I stumbled across a treatment that consists of dipping ones ********* into hot water (120 F) for 40 minutes a day for 3 weeks, lasts 6 months. It worked...either that or I'm extremely lucky, or sterile. I'll find out in the next decade or so. I think I'd rather have the injection.

120F does seem excesive, as sperm loses almost all motility at @ 105F.

But, y'know, parbroil yer balls if you be so inclined.

It also basically burned off all the hair on them, so I didn't have to shave that part for close to a year. Technically what I read (and yes, I did actually research this before boiling my balls) the temperature should be about 118, but my thermometer wasn't the most accurate, so I think it was actually a few degrees higher.

If I sterilized myself, oh well, I'm not particularly worried about passing on genes. It's better than just Darwining myself out of the genepool, as I can still adopt some poor kid and teach him how to not be a complete moron.

The one difference between me and other morons is that I learn why some things I do are moronic. Unfortunately, it will be a never-ending learning experience, as everyday I find whole new ways to be moronic. The bigger issue will be finding someone to marry while being a moron, as I have no desire to raise a kid on my own.

Not full tasering to the balls, but simulation through extremely low voltage through professionally made devices. Smiley: lol If you've been to a chiropractor to have back strain relieved the devices are similar to the electro-paddles used there.

There is a video of a sub guy constantly being tasered in the balls by two dom women on Spankwire though.
