After Wint & Osarion became admins, I believe Pikko mentioned that more admins may be required for the FFXIV portion of the site in the future.
My question is this: if I want to be admin for a particular game, am I required to be playing it at the time? I only ask because I won't be playing FFXIV until the PS3 release next March.
Also, if I can sneak a couple more questions in: how many admins are married, and are any of them married to other admins?
Lastly, Happy Thanksgiving. Yes, I know that's not a question. :)
Your chances of getting an admin content manager position are directly proportional to your experiance, knowledge, and ability to utilize said game. While playing a particular game is not a guarantee you would get an admin hat (Side note: they don't actually give us actual hats unfortunatly, that would be awsome) NOT playing a particular game almost definitly ensures that you wouldn't get the hat, because competition for those spots is generally pretty fierce.
I'd say about 2/3rds of the current admins are married, the exceptions are mostly single guys such as myself. We have had husband and wife team admins in the past, however there are none presently serving.
Happy thanksgiving to you too!

Question for the admins: when are you going to upgrade my posting software? Right now I'm stuck with the rudimentary "Flame Thesaurus" profanity library that was included in my original programming by Illia, for Bob's sake.
Also, how's the Forum Predictions 2011 coming alo... xxl;kd .slksjr sl;kud ;l k1123 ql;k09 09asdr rlk;jadf////////////////////////
Well, the truth is the upgrade has been ready for a few years now, but no one is willing to try and locate the USB port to plug in the memory stick to install it...
The forum predictions document actually doesn't usually start getting written until around the 27th. Sometimes if a particularily memorable one occurs to me earlier i'll write it down, but generally they are all done by first taking a list of all posters who have posted in any threads in the Asylum for the last 2 weeks or so prior to creation of said list, adding most of the admins from staff bios, and any particularily memorable posters who have been absent. Once I have that sorted list, I remove the duplicate names, then start writing. It's one of the few posts that ever gets spell checked from me. Each year it tends to get longer than the prior year, And I usually at this point have to go back through all the previous ones to make sure there isn't a repeat, and that I continue the chains that need continuing. I usually grab some of the OOT poster list as well, but I'm not sure they read it ever to be honest. But its fun to do, and traditional! and 100% crap my brain decides to spew forth too!
