Do the Admin and mods here have a Code to follow?
Like be nice and neutral and not take sides in things?

The forum I mod also has a "No holds Barred" forum. With the exception of trashing the mods and certain things like racism and such. The mods dont do much to it but watch. Getting involved with the discussions is never advisable and not a wise idea.

Er, sort of. It's mainly a "follow the forum rules, and when in doubt refer the matter to Kao or Darqflame" code. Asylum is fair game for any admin that wants to mix it up in there, though most don't for various reasons. There is no rule or policy in place prohibiting admins from starting or contributing to discussions, though again, many don't. My posting style changed dramatically when i got the admin hat, as anyone who was here before that can attest. Part of it for me is the name color. Too many subjects with that maroon name and i start to feel I am hijacking a forum, where before that never bothered me in the slightest. Replying I don't have as much of an issue with, though when you get admin alot more of your time is devoted to reading and fixing issues rather than posting. I'm in kind of a unique position though as I am the only dedicated forum admin. The rest of the staff are "content managers of doom" first and admins as time permits in the forums. And we often take sides when side taking is warranted. I personally take sides against spammers and RMTers on a daily basis! is fun!

Because hovercraft seats are typically made of synthetic salmon skin, which eels consider a delicasy, the post count on your posts page lied to you because it shows the same to me for both, and because he owes me cheese.

Do you always get along with your coworkers? I assume admins can get in disputes from time to time... how do you handle them? Have you ever had to have Alla / Head Honcho guy settle them for you?

There are disputes from time to time, not all that many that I was involved with recently. Magi was the biggest dispute in allakhazam history in terms of outright dislike for another admin. Sometimes there are personality clashes. It really depends on who is involved, over what, and when as to how they are resolved. I usually try to work mine out without involving anyone higher up. that doesn't always work though. I like to think i get along pretty well with most of our staff.

Toss up between a pair of the black shield generator pieces shown here:

or the "hyperdrive engine" piece that is the hard to see nose of the rocket shown here: http://guide.lugnet.com/set/?q=6959_1&v=z

My main lego spaceship was a long swing wing creation with retractable ski landing gear, twin side mounted turrets and detatchable missiles. I still have it at my parents house somewhere I think. I should put it back together and put it on display. it was pretty awsome.

Jophiel wrote:
If I was an admin, what's the most likely reason I'd lose my job?

For a wider question, what's the most common reason for staff to drop off over there? Eventual lack of interest? Fired for performance? Their jobs are phased out for lack of demand? Conflicts with "real" (full time) jobs?

If I were to guess, the oppertunity for you to do something unfortunate to a certain asylum poster which might begin with a g would be the most likely cause. Or maybe you would get a medal? I dunno.

On the wider view, the biggest reason historically has been burnout. Especially the content manager positions which demand alot of constant data entry. People get other jobs, decide they don't want two jobs anymore, stop showing up in IRC or doing anything, etc. Other times, real life intrudes. Or they just feel like it isn't the job for them. Very few are removed for lack of demand if they are actually doing their job. I have seen people transferred from "dead" games to other games, but not jsut let go if the game is truly the issue, not their input.

I'm the only official forum admin. I usually log into IRC after I get home from my other job, then log off about 4 or so hours later, and also put in time on the weekends. No, there are no shifts, though some of our foriegn admins do tend to be active more at ungodly hours of the morning for some strange reason.
Also, I see that darqflame already gave you your notes, but I just added:
Tue Nov 16 22:55:34 2010 [Kaolian]: Doug? DOUG? What kind of lame gamer handle is Doug??? (yeah, he asked for admin notes too... Did I mention the Lame part? )
