Hit a scorpion(I think it's a bark scorpion, at that) so hard with a broom that its back end flew off at your foot, causing you to somehow jump on a waist high desk quicker than you thought possible?

Screenshot

All I knew was one moment the broom was swinging down, and the next I was crouching on the desk next to the cucumber water dispenser and the scorpion's tail was sitting next to the wall by where my foot had been.

We put cucumbers, water and ice in a water jug thingy with a spout. It only dispenses the water, which is now cold and tastes of delicious and refreshing cucumbers.

Awesome spidey reflexes, Poldy. I bet that dispenser works really well with fresh mint leaves or lemon balm stalks in it, too.

Who would willingly consume cucumber flavored water? That sounds disgusting.

It's really very good. A couple restaurants around here serve their ice water like that.

We actually vary what we serve, but cucumber is the most common because they're cheaper than strawberries and more popular than lemon. Orange didn't work out too well as that just tasted like orange pith. I'll definitely have to suggest the mint, though. Thanks for the suggestion, Ari.

Unless it involves women and the insertion into.

Do you cut up the cucumbers? How much?

Mint in ice water is fantastic.

For the jug, I think it's two cucumbers sliced up(5 gallons of water?). For a glass, 2-3 slices do the job, though you need to give it a few minutes before you'll taste it.

Funny, I said earlier this evening that I would never move to New Mexico in a million years because of a centipede story from someone who grew up there. Now I'm saying it again because of those scorpions. I may not like cold, but at least up here our creep crawlies are normal sized, and we don't have scorpions.

Had to deal with a decent sized centipede a few weeks ago. Some dude from Mexico picked it up with his cell phone and tried to hand it to me. Smiley: eek

Also, update: apparently having ninja reflexes and being this out of shape really doesn't mix. My back is in a lot of pain and has been ever since I woke up.

Time to get (back) into shape then.

And I would have tried to catch and photograph the scorpion. Smiley: tongue

When I first saw it, a part of me wanted to catch it, cut its stinger off and eat it alive, but another part of me screamed like a little girl.

You should have caught it and kept it as a pet.
So for next time, scream like the little girl you are but don't kill it. Wait until you've calmed down and then catch it and put it in a terrarium to watch because those creatures are so cool.

If I want to watch one of them somewhere, that's what the internet is for. You can even watch them being pitted against other critters in a battle to the death.

the internet cannot compare to real life.

Also, how poisonous is the thing anyway? Or was rather as it's pretty dead now.

If my identification is correct, it was one of the more dangerous ones living in this area, as in potentially fatal to humans(though chance of fatality is pretty low provided treatment is sought and the victim has no allergies).

Today they used strawberries. And the ibuprofen I took has mellowed out the back pain considerably, so I doubt it was anything major.

I just put a little bit of lemon juice in my water.

As for scorpions, when my brother lived in Greece, he caught a scorpion and a centipede in his flat and had them live inside a jar until the centipede killed the scorpion. He kept the shell, but it has deteriorated with time (he lived there about 15 years ago).
