This remix of Imogen Heap's Hide & Seek makes me go half-mast. What do you think?
#2 Aug 05 2010 at 11:58 PM Rating: Decent
I think this didn't need a thread.

You're right, it should have been in word search form. What do you think of the actual song?

It's a pretty interesting song, very mellow, good "gettin' high in the dark" music.

Check this out.

Actually, there's a forum specifically designed for this type of discussion. You're new so, this one can slide, until an admin moves it, but in the future, please post all music threads in the correct forum.

Bit slow at first, mellow mix of pop and electronic, then it warmed up nicely for me. Music is sort of becoming all "Fusion"y, like modern cross-cultural food. I liked it, thanks.

To be fair, unless I'm missing another forum, the one I'm thinking you're thinking about doesn't mention music specifically, so it's an easy mistake to make.

Edit: And some would argue that it's not a mistake at all.

Look, I finally got DW to stop posting this crap here. If it took Jboons 2 hours to find out that there really is no other place to post his next one, then that's 2 hours of me being happy. What do you have against me being happy and not ******** at everyone here?

Thank you so much for letting it slide. I don't know what I would do if you hadn't.

But really, I am well aware of the different forums and what belongs in each.

Yeah, it's definitely slow at first. I think the reason I like it a lot is because all other Hide & Seek remixes are just techno (or however else you want to describe it, I'm not a music critique) beats with the "whatcha say" hook repeated as a theme, none of the other parts of the song. AutoPilot definitely does a great job incorporating most of the song in the remix. The original is quite slow, too. I love what she does with her voice, even if it's modified by computer.

Meh. Right now, I'm listening to Van Morrison in preparation for his concert in San Diego after almost 3 decades of depriving us with his presence.

I've seen Van Morrison electrify a crowd. I've also seen him phone it in. Hope he's "on" when you see him.

I love that crazy old man.

I only stopped posting it because I don't really have time these days to **** around on the interwebs. Also, you don't HAVE to read every thread.

Also, too add to the actual thread, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XjdWK4_y2KM

You have time to argue with varus but not enough time to post one of your famous "What are you listening to?" threads?

Yea, ok then. Smiley: looney

If the imaginary concept of me trying to figure out where to post a thread about music for two hours actually makes you happy, then you have a sad, pathetic life, Ugly. Don't want to break your heart, but it took me about 15 seconds to think about what forum to put my thread in. And it occurred after I had already posted it here. But if you want, I'll stick to blogging in my threads like most of the other posters in OoT. Seems that would keep you happy too.

/rolleyes

Also, I'd like to hear more about what you guys think of the song. Don't let grumpy bullsh*t derail a third thread of mine.

It worked. How is it futile? What's delusional is your desire to compare me to people that, to me, don't exist.

What about it didn't you like?

It's futile because half these posts are off topic, and I only posted remotely on topic because it opens the door to belittle your taste in music later on. And it's not my fault if you haven't figured out who Alma is yet; it's not like he isn't verbose enough. Hell, he just caused yet another six page thread over in the Asylum yesterday. If you can't bother to be concerned with checking out the neighborhood, don't complain over people talking about the neighbors.

As for the song, it's a bland mix of jarring, mellow, and uninspired. I can barely listen to thirty seconds of it.

You opened a door that leads to nowhere, my friend. Belittle my taste in music all you want. This isn't middle school recess.

Don't be defensive about the whole Alma thing, either. I didn't blame a single thing on you. I'm just saying that your attempt at comparing me to someone that I haven't seen much of and don't really care about is pretty useless. Clearly it's all on me to study every single poster and their respective personalities, then gauge myself somewhere in between them in the personality spectrum, then agree or disagree with other peoples' analysis, right? Because that's what checking out the neighborhood would entail in your cute little example. (Which didn't really make much sense, anyway. Not a very strong argument.)

Verbosity is not a bad thing on an Internet forum. It's how they function.

I can definitely see how you could think the song is boring, though. It's very slow to start, but I feel like it picks up nicely after probably thirty seconds. I like mellow songs once and again, and this one combines mellow with tech, which is cool to me.

There's healthy verbosity and then there's the intellectual ************ that Alma engages in. It's apples and oranges.
