I've been meaning to ask this for a long time because I have no idea what it is:

What is the purpose of the check box above "Post Messsage" on a new thread that is also above "Add Signature" called "Parse Markup?"

I can leave it checked or unchecked and it doesn't seem to make a difference-- though I am not very observant.

I don't know that they do. one of the full timers would have to answer that. And no, we are still critically short on developers. We need at least 3 or 4 more.

WOW (main site)
FFXI (forums has more than Wow, but less people visiting site overall)
After that, EQ2, Warhammer and Eq still get alot of traffic, but i'm unsure of which order to rank them. WoW is the top traffic by a large margin at this point.

Parse markup turns on or off markup tags. If you turn it off, the post looks something like this.

Edit: it is apperently not functional at the moment either.

I also have another question pertaining to the Web Designer / Artist slot currently available.
If you had someone apply that was skilled as an Artist, but not a Web Designer, would they be considered as a part time position?

He used content of PM's sent to him in confidence as an admin in a post admin skirmish with another poster. We chose to disable the account rather than allow that possibility in the future. It was not an easy decision, but showing that we will not tolerate that under any circumstances was important. My job effectiveness depends on people being willing to communicate with me. If they won't because they are afraid an admin will use something they send against them, that hampers my effectiveness.

That was the sole decideing factor.

BTW, that is not my question. (God, once I have my new computer together, I'm gonna need to give myself a crash course on stuff as far as Perl and the like. Kinda rusty. :-/)
