30 Days of Nights/Ben Euphoria Follow

Let's start off with 30 Days of Nights

10/10 Survival Horror

9.5/10 Horror

10/10 Ben's Opinion

I hadn't really expected much, I am a fan of Dark Horse comics but I really expected this movie to be corny and not very well done. I was wrong. I would also like to state that I live for survival horror, I always walk away from anything from Dawn of the Dead to Last Man on Earth poking at minor details of what could have been better, this movie being an exception.

To say the least 30 Days of Nights was a gift from God. It was amazing, everything was perfect starting at the Citizen Kane-esque lighting, to the amazingly well done gore, it was a treat to be able to sit down in an empty theater and see a gem like this. The camera work was perfect, a lot of people complain about certain camera usage that has been covering up for CGI (Specifically Transformers) this had those, but it did utilize many uses of the camera. The gore at times was a little extreme (even for my tastes) but most of the time is quick and it was never left bland from over usage. They amazingly utilized every piece of making the bad guy scarier that I've ever seen used in a horror movie, some people may know the rules or horror and some may not but let me break it down for you...

The rules of making the bad guy scary are these...

1. Never show the monster, or rather never reveal it fully
2. If it's a entity, make it unknown in numbers
3. If it's numerous foes, never truly reveal a way to kill them (I.E Holy Water on Vampires, Silver Bullet on werewolves)

They used every single rule that I know of, true the first rule was broken about half way through the movie but they did it with taste.

The cons of the movie where basically character evolution. Some surviving characters where nothing more than vanilla figures that had no meaning. I think they developed the 2 main characters love/relationship well without having a unneeded sex scene which I thought was going to be inevitable. The dialog was well done but some of the actors where off a bit. Plenty of recognizable face that have been in our movies for ages but are unknown to the general public.

So that wraps up the movie potion onto my being a emo ******* pansy.

Sorry for the last few days if any of you where either sent PM's or annoyed by my IM's or my blatant whoredom posts. I've been having a rough couple of weeks and after seeing the movie I had such a sense of euphoria, renewal, and good feelings that I forget that my brain is wired to see movies. Generally I see movies to calm down and I've been itching to see one for weeks, without that release and **** stacked at work and at home I went a little ******* lately and I apologize. I seriously left the theater with a grin on my face, I was even pretty rozy cheaked it was almost post-coitus.

Well I hoped you enjoyed my bland review but if you have a chance to go see this I highly recommend it. Especially if you're a fan of Horror, Gore, Vampires, or even if your looking for something to jump out of you. (There's quite a bit of the last thing.)

Good review. This might actually make me reconsider seeing it (on DVD).

Generally if I review a Horror (If it's not buy Clive Barker Smiley: tongue) I'll nit-pick it to hell and not really enjoy it. I do recommend seeing it in theaters only because I love that sense that you're...

A) Worried about yelping when something jumps out
B) Making it a occasion with friends who like to get jumped at and scared

Also, I was scared ********* it seriously gave me tingles down my back.

I'd also like for people to tell me what I did wrong in my review, I was thinking about starting a blog or a journal of my movie reviews but things like that tend to fall on deaf ear if I didn't have the best structure.

Since MGM had 3 Billion in debt paid off when they started massively pushing Blu-ray you will no doubt see it in Blu-ray.
