I can't figure why this extension even exists. Is it that hard to use a mouse or even Ctl+Tab?

I hate the tab system, I disable that function whenever possible. So this doesn't mean much to me. Smiley: frown

I heart tabs because it means I have one single browser window open on my work computer instead of five. Which makes Alt-Tabbing a lot more effective.

I'll give that a Smiley: thumbsup. However, I still don't see a need for the linked function.

I personally like it because I tend to get 5-6 tabs going at any given time, all of which are actively doing something.

I also tend to use my mouse as little as possible. I learned to use a computer without one, and I find it easier to use keyboard shortcuts to accomplish things.

Ctrl + Tab moves you through them in a linear fashion, which I find irritating. I also hate using a mouse so wherever I can cut down on that is a good thing.

Visual Studio handles Ctrl + Tab better because if you have multiple tabs and you use Ctrl + Tab, it only toggles between the last 2 viewed tabs. Sometimes I have 6-9 tabs open in FireFox and I only want to access 2 specific tabs, this helps with that.

It brings the tabs close to 508 compliance, although there's nothing wrong with using Ctrl+T. Why do that repeatedly when you can Ctrl+5 to go directly to the fifth tab?

All the extension does is replace the tab's "x" (close) icon with a numbered equivalent. The actual Ctrl + # behavior is already implemented as a standard part of Firefox.

Nice. I have an extension that lets me do CTRL + <- or -> to let me navigate through tabs. The numbers in that extension are nifty, though.
