The Dolphins' disappointment doesn't vary all that much, as they rarely (for the past few seasons) bring you to a level that you'd actually be shocked that they lost.
The Saints have the knack of turning you into a mouth breathing fan (as they have now with their miraculous 4 game winning streak) only to bring down the sledgehammer of failure directly onto your face at the height of excitement. I've learned to expect it though.
I have a $500 bet going on with Duece's cousin that they don't make it to the playoffs. I'm so gonna win $500.

That's pretty much standard behavior. The one thing they've consistently been for the last 20 years or so is inconsistent. They'll be unbeatable one week, then turn around and lose horribly against a crappy team like the Vikings the next.
A true Charger's fan *never* says anything remotely like "We can't possibly lose this game...". Doesn't matter how good the team's been playing, how amazing the stats, or how crappy the other team. They'll find a way to lose if the fates decree it is to happen.
You just kinda accept it after awhile...

Been in a Chargers family since birth, but more recently gotten into it. You put it very aptly.
I can't wait to see what Cockson's rookie year looks like!

Srsly have never wanted to jump ship so bad. Only game I see us coming close to winning is either the Jets or the Ravens.
