Dragonforce was cool 2 years ago.

Starfire is the best.

dragonforce is still cool, just not as popular as they were a year ago.

My two favorite songs of their's - I can't remember their names =] but I know one was from the sonic firestorm album, and the other was from Inhuman Rampage.

But, Where Dragon's Rule...I really liked the Piano in that one.

I am not up to date with music if I catch something I like, I tend to obsess over it till I am sick of it. With a few bands being the exception to this rule.

Judging by their lyrics, the members of Dragonforce LARP in their parents' basements.

I have no idea what a "Dragonforce" is but, if I was listening to some music and someone asked me what was playing, I'd rather tell them it was Barry Manilow than admit to listening to anything named "Dragonforce".

The lyrics are essentially "SWORDS ARE MADE OF STEEL", "WE HAVE SHINY ARMOR", and "SLAY THIS DRAGON."

I have no problem listening to any types of music. Well with the exception of rap, it's hard to care what people think of me based on the music I listen to. it's like assuming someone's vegan if a band they like is vegan. But I guess that's why no one likes me Smiley: glare.

Smiley: cry

Still, I have to say I think the guitar parts are great but the piano bit Himmelskralle was talking about is awesome.

Most of their lyrics have that effect.

I love how people can like all types of movies, books, TV, etc., but when it comes to music it's all SERIOUS BUSINESS.

I take music about as seriously as I take the internet in general.

Seriously, they're skilled musicians, but the application is... meh. Also, it helps not to have inadvertently funny lyrics.

I've never listened to the music. It's just an embarassingly bad name. It sounds like a 1980's kid's cartoon from DiC.

Dragonforce has the unique quality of being able to make every freaking song sound like an anime intro.

Oh, and they're able to play guitar really, really fast... but I hope we're intelligent enough here to realize that speed isn't everything, right? Right?
#22 Nov 03 2007 at 9:45 PM Rating: Decent
speed isn't everything, unless your name is Michael Angelo Batio.

If I had to pick one guitarist who was "the best" I'd probably have to go with Steve Vai. He can play incredibly fast, without having his music sound "robotic"

The man seems to be able to channel raw emotion into his guitar, without having to sacrifice speed to do so. Compared to other superfast guitarists, this makes him a rarity.

If you ever listen to Yngwie Malmstein(probably misspelled), you'll notice that his music sounds pretty emotionless..but very fast.

Michael Angelo Batio, is in my mind, the fastest guitarist in the world. He uses a rather unique picking style that not only allows him to play a million notes per second(figuratively speaking) while somehow being able to keep his picking very clean and crisp.

John Petrucci(probably misspelled again) is another really fast guitarist, but he is INCREDIBLY SLOPPY, at least when compared to a guy like Batio.

If I had to pick a single guitarist who could compete with Batio's speed, it'd have to be Symphony X Guitarist, Michael Romeo.

Ringo is the best drummer of the past eighty-three years.

You seem to have left Buckethead out of the list. And John 5.

Pssh, nub. While Gheorghe may dominate a novice like Ringo, when it comes to pan fluting Mr Starkey is like the Damian Draghici of the drumkit. I'd like to see Gheorghe bangarang like Ringo on Blue Jay Way.

Oh yeah, that's right, I totally just googled "pan flute artists" to make that extremely laborious joke. This act of google abuse is probably the very epitome of dorkiness, unless, of course, you didn't have need to google Gheorge Zamfir, in which case I look about as cool as The Fonz.Smiley: waycool
