My third-grade teacher sent a note home with me telling my mother she suspected I was borderline retarded because I didn't write the way she wanted me to write. I read it to my mom at the kitchen table.
I've never been whisked back to school so fast in my life. Nor did I ever hear such language from my mother again.

Oddly enough, I have a somewhat similar story. My teacher threatened to fail me because "he's too stupid to write in cursive". My mom didn't curse at her or anything, but she spent a good hour trying to prove to the teacher logically that I couldn't be all that stupid if I had nearly perfect grades in the class. Though I missed the honor roll for the only time in elementary school due to an S- in handwriting.
Teachers like that should be fired. Seriously, why do some of these people bother getting teaching degrees when it's obvious that they don't care to do their job properly? If my teacher had told my parents that I was "stupid", there would have been a screaming match followed by a hearing for said teacher.
Kids have to put up with enough crap from their classmates. They shouldn't have to deal with sh*t from teachers, too.
