The fact that his father would use it vocally does disturb me quite greatly, yes.

My husband will get up to leave a room and say, "Be are be."

I throw the remote at him, usually.

I don't think parents are responsible for paying for college period. You go to college as an adult, it's your choice and expense. If your parents help you, out of the goodness of their heart or some sense of responsibility, that's fantastic and you should be absurdly greatful. If they don't, it's not some flaw to their parenting. It's unfortunate that the Feds have decided that despite the age of majority being 18, that parent's income needs to be taken into consideration for Federal Financial Aid until the student reaches the age of 24 (or is married, has a kid, etc.).

That's my little tangent for the morning....Happy Friday!

Because I'm capable of paying $45,000 a year to go to college. And if I'm not, then I am surely able to pay off a couple hundred grand in debt after I graduate.

Thank God for parents.

Hopefully you realized I was kidding. If not, I shall tell you now: I was kidding. Smiley: grin

There is a plus side though. Because of my incredibly low income family, I can borrow basically all the money I want, but alas, I get no car for three years of work. Plus I got like $1,400 of scholarships from speech and debate team winnings that no one can touch but me.

If you have low income, I hope you're getting a pell grant and such.

On that, my sister got a grant because she met certain criteria. Some old white guy died apparently he decided all his riches should be dispersed via college grants. The qualifying criteria she told me was 1) White 2) Single parent family 3) personal income of less than 25k/year 4) female.

Pretty interesting as I thought grants couldn't be given based on sex/ethnicity but she explained me because it was willed money, that the owner of the will can set whatever ridiculous criteria desired.

People DO pay off those loans. It isn't uncommon.

Neat.

There are lots of different localized and specific scholarships dependant on institution, location, high school attended, etc... It's worth looking into when you decide to go to school. Some of them don't have many applicants. There are also a retarded amount of essay competitions for any of you folks who like writing. It's funny because it's mostly a "weeding out those too lazy to write an essay" competition, rather than being based on some high standard of writing. Mensa has some good scholarships based on essays.

Yes, but the cost/benefit ratio is definitely not worth it. If my parents did not support me, then I would be going to a state school (for nearly free), but because of them I can go to a good private university. If all students had to pay their own way, private universities would be deserted.

I don't believe you have feelings and I think your sister is probably more attractive now that she's been decomposing for a couple years then she was when she was alive. In fact, I'd say she was too ugly to live, and that guy did us all a favor by choking the life out of her.

Now someone rate me up.

I know you say these things intending to be hurtful and/or funny but this one crosses the line in my mind. Now don't misunderstand me, I'm not all butthurt about it. I'm not expecting you to care or do anything about it. Just wanna let you know that some things are just uncool.

If this happened to me and some random poster said that about my loved one I'd probably try to hunt you down, you know, for the LuLz and all.
But, since anyone with half a brain knows you're all talk it just makes you look bad.

At least you got me to post, so I guess you got the attention you wanted right?

Feel free to go into detail about some obscure sexual scenario involving me, you know you wanna.
