I have this huge blister on the bottom of my left foot.

It is one inch wide and 2-2.5 inches long.

I wore the wrong socks last night when wearing my boots -.-

It is effecting the way i walk.

What would you all do? Pop it? Leave it alone?

Pro/con list!:

Pro: I pop it, it drains (without tearing). All could be good.

Con: I pop it, it drains, tears the "to be dead" skin, tears good skin, i get more pain. Maybe an infection. Not good.

I've never had a blister of this size (I've never had one that hurt this bad either). It is almost epic.

Pop it. Drain it. Put Neosporin on it. But a Bandaid on it.
#3 Nov 01 2007 at 6:53 PM Rating: Excellent
Use a disinfected needle and a bandaid.

I dunno, pop it, get some gauze and an ace bandage and tightly wrap it?

Get one of those corkscrew straws before you do anything.

What Belkira said. Make sure you bandage it well, either with a wrap around, or by frequently changing the bandage. If it slides off due to perspiration you are going to end up irritating and possibly infecting the area.

Smiley: schooled Do *not* pop it. It'll be sore for a day or so, but it will heal quicker and be less painful if you just leave it be. I've broken in many a pair of Doc Martens in my day and have experience with this.

Disinfect the blister after you have drained it, before you band-ad/bandage it.

A blister will heal faster if left unpopped, but the main reason many people do this is to prevent them from accidentally popping in a a bad situation. You don't want it to pop in the middle of a walk and to start mixing with the bacteria in your shoe.

Whenever you get new leather shoes, you dampen some soap, and rub the soap bar around the inside of the shoe in any area that you have had blister troubles with in the past, just before you put them on and wear them for the day.

The soap will soften the leather and it will re-mold and harden perfectly around the shape of your foot. No blisters for ju from your new shoes!

This is the stuff that needs to be taught in schools.

And should i use a clean sewing needle, i could drain it via a clean lancet(sp), or use a clean razor blade a slit it.

Any really, though I think a needle has the least chance for tearing latter.

It needs to be more than clean, it needs to be sterile. That means holding it in a flame or soaking it in alcohol. Also take care to sterilize your hands as well if you will be squeezing out the fluids.

Thinking back, you might have to soap your new shoes two or three days running, depending on the thickness of the leather.

Woot for diabetic brothers!

What's even cooler is that you got left with a syringe full of your own saltwater fluid, didn't you? What to inject? What to inject?

yea i sucked it all out, then drew a Target on a paper towel, and stuck it t my fridge...and began to take shots.

I scored 150, Didn't hit the bull's eye, before i ran out of my own fluid.
