Taking up the sci-fi staple of "tractor beams," scientists have developed a way to use light to grab and move minuscule particles on a microchip. The research could lead to fine-grained biological sensors and other precisely built nanoscale devices.

That is really cool.

Lang and Appleyard proved their technique by getting 16 live E. coli cells to spell out "MIT" on a chip.

I'm such a nerd I didn't find that funny, I got a warm and fuzzy glow in my chest at the achievements of the human race.

Oh yea?!

Well, I'm such a nerd that the mention of a woman's chest flusters me to the point where I forget what a microchip is.

I have to win this.

My sources tell me that drooling all over oneself and consoling oneself with Star Wars action figures, however, is not the norm.

We don't need any of that voyager ********* We need a Death Star.

On a related note, when I compared navigating a busy shopping centre to flying the Death Star trench with no targeting system today, the girl I was with was like "is that that thing where the cute kid races against the fugly guy and Jar Jar is cheering?"

Srsly, no lie.

Oh, and the girl I was with was a flatmate who decided I needed shoes to she dragged me out shoe-shopping. I was entitled to a little geekiness so I felt more comfortable. God, shoe shops suck the life out of me.
