So continues the story of the neverending lawlz filled drama that is my life.

So last Thursday I got the official Case Dismissed for all of this crap we have have been dealing with. There was still the slight matter of the criminal protection order in place which was barring everything from finally returning to normal.

Fast forward to yesterday. I went to my lawyer after work to pay my bill and ask about the order, in hopes of moving all of this along to a satisfactory conclusion. Turns out that on Thursday they dismissed the order as well but didn't bother to mention it to either my attorney or myself. Such is life.

So I called the gf and let her know that everything was over and done with, and there was much rejoicing.

Until she called her ex to let him know. Her ex won't answer the phone when she calls so she has to relay everything thru his mom to get the message thru. Thankfully though he still lives at home so it's not too tough to do. He finally called her back later last night and spent the better part of an hour yelling at her about how the order isn't dropped because he was never notified and she is a bad mom because she left him for me.

Originally there were two orders in place, one civil, one criminal. The civil lapsed on September 5th and he never bothered to renew it. The criminal was dismissed on the 26th and he refuses to acknowledge it because he was never notified. The law books that he writes say that nothing is allowed to happen without his approval. The law books that sane people use say that criminal orders have nothing to do with him but between the state and who the order is against. Which was re-affirmed by the sergeant on duty that we spoke with after talking to her ex.

Anywho, so he said that he wasn't going to let her have her son and even though he was leaving for a hunting trip he was going to tell his mom to not let her have her son. This is all fine and dandy to him, although slightly against the law to everyone else. Because his mom is not a parent or legal gaurdian, this can be construed as kidnapping which is against the law. Believe it or not.

So tonight after work we are going to pick him up, and if she says no, we go back out there with a cop to have her arrested and the gf can finally bring her son home. Then the next morning we will be filing a civil protection order aginst her ex to keep him away from the gf. If this all shakes out, that would mean the only way for him to see his son from this point on would be me taking his son to him. Oh, the ironies that life dishes out please me sometimes.

Ain't life grand?

Oh, and BT and Kaelesh, do your worst. I know you both get your rocks off by trying to get me all worked up, but not this day. This day is mine.

You said exciting. This is just pathetic.

I highly doubt it. If he left the child in the care of his mother, the cops aren't going to just snatch the kid out of her arms and give them to you unless there is a serious reason to do so (unsafe environment, violates your express visitation rights, etc.). Even then, it's the childs Grandmother. Good fucking luck chump.

This was pretty funny, though, because it informs me that my words to you on Allakazoo's Magical Realm have apparently ruined your day before.Smiley: crymore

I called a child therapist friend of mine.

She said to tell you thanks.

I don't really get why though. Must be some silly therapist mumbo-jumbo Smiley: nod

I got news for ya there mate. She isn't a legal guardian, she is no more than a babysitter in the eyes of the court. The gf has custody of her son starting tonight, so at the very least she is obstructing justice by defying a court order. You can be arrested for that.

I can only hope that you're passing down a time honored tradition from your parents of beating the kids. It's the only explanation of why you're so stupid.

If indeed there is a custody transfer ordered by law, then Senji is right. If the court's conclusion is that the mother is to retain custody, and the father leaves the child with someone else with explicit instruction to delay that court order, that is obstruction, and she can very well be charged.

I saw what you wrote. I was just pointing out the obvious, a technique you mastered.

I'm so glad I don't have to deal with child custody issues.

It's not as bad as all that. My ex and I get along great. Better than we did when we were married.
